“Good food and beer with an ocean view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

We stopped here for lunch one day on the recommendation of a local shop owner. Our waitress was very nice and did a good job of picking beers for us as we're somewhat clueless and didn't know most of the brands they offered. One of us had an Asian noodle, shrimp and scallop salad that was excellent and the other the other a gyro that was skimpy on meat and probably not the smartest selection. The prices were fair and it was an overall good experience and a place we would return to if we turn up in Esperanza again!

“Good food, clean, rustic atmosphere and awesome beer selection.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

Hands down one of the best beer menus (plus specials) I've seen on non-Europe trips and an absolute stunning surprise for the island of Vieques or even P.R. for that matter. Many times your choices are Medalla light and worse. I felt very much at home at Duffy's and liked it so much I ate there at least three times in four days. The dishes were prepared with care and were definitely a bit more inspired that other places I had eaten including the much hyped Carambola. Baja fish tacos were excellent with lightly fried fish, soft flour tortillas and pickled red onion. I had an appetizer one night of seared Mahi that was well executed but a bit steep in price for the portion. I can't say enough about the beer selection. I think I single-handedly wiped out their stock of Bear Republic Racer 5 and put a good dent in the Red Rocket supply. I've rarely seen these beers available outside San Francisco. There were also some nice selections for Victory brewing. Fun reggae band on Friday night too. Be warned about Saturday nights in Esperanza, it gets loud, trashy, and a bit of a zoo. One additional item for tourists. I discovered that it seems many places here have their own house hot sauces. Don't be afraid to ask if you like it hot. There may well be a variety available.

“great reasonably priced food on Vieques”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

We went here multiple times for lunch and once for dinner. Food is really good and reasonably priced for a tourist location. Jerk chicken with rice and beans was spectacular.

“There are better options in Esperanza”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

A relatively big bar with some TVs for watching sports etc. The seating is plentiful and outdoor breeze is available everywhere. The bar is large and the beer selection is pretty good. The view is similar to many of the other spots on the Esperanza boardwalk.

Food here was fair to good. There is a better selection of food here than at Lazy Jacks but the atmosphere is less fun.

Our biggest complaints about the two times we came to Duffy's: They tried to double-charge us and then tried to cover it up and the service was not only awful, but actually mean.

“Best Bloody Marys”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

The Mary of all Marys is one of the best bloody mary drinks I've ever had. The fish tacos were good and the pork pastele was really good. Make sure you ask for some of the hot sauce- that stuff is amazing!
