“Not Worth The Effort”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

OK, first things first, I liked the personality and energy of the owner, seems like a nice enough man. However, if rating this as a place that you would make a conscious decision to want to eat and drink at, it needs to get low marks. We went out of our way to go there for breakfast one morning and had no idea that its just a shack with plastic chairs next to the airport. When we asked for a menu for breakfast we were told that we one option, a breakfast sandwich. The food was okay, but unless you are stranded at the airport with nowhere else to go, no need to put this on your list of places to eat in Vieques.

“rocios grilled fish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

the best airport cafe by far, is the isla nena cafe in vieques. we stopped and had lunch and drink and did we enjoy ourselves. rocios grilled fish fillet and rice and beans were the best i have ever had. the staff was fantastic. the owner gives out free local traditional shots of chichaus that makes the tummy tingle. this is a stop everyone should make more than once.

“Great food, good value, odd location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

This is a unique spot, located right at the airport. We were out at Mosquito Pier, and Starfish Beaches, and stopped in for lunch since we were over that way. Unfortunately, the legendary Lyman and his wife had just left for some vacation elsewhere, so we didn't get to sample any of their specialties. However, we were not disappointed. For an appetizer we had the Conch Fritters, which were out of this world. I have never been too impressed by a conch fritter, but these were something I would go back for. I had the fish sandwhich, which was just fantastic. My wife ordered the chicken empanadas, and they were out of this world good. We had a few drinks, waited out the rain storm, and had a good lunch.

Its not a place I would hang out at for hours, having drinks, but that's only b/c your view is basically the airport's buildings. But for a great lunch or breakfast, paired with friendly service, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! From the sound of other reviews, this Lymon guy and his wife serve up some tasty treats. Even when they weren't there, the food was excellent, so its definitely a can't miss type of meal!

“Fun Fun Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

Food great and the atmosphere is the best. If you want to meet the locals this is the place to be. Lyman is the best bartender on the island.. Try the pulled pork, and his Chi Chows. His wife's dumplings on Tuesday are to die for.

“Great funky place for good food and drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

I loved the true funky old time bar/restaurant, and Lyman the owner and his wife Sun Yee. When wife coks dumplings and crab rangoons on Tuesday and Wednesday everyone comes in for these yummy specialties. We loved them! Breakfast great and reasonable prices. Perfect for when you get off the plane or before getting on. Great vibe, simple, and personable.
