“Magical Experience, Must-See”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

Booked the bioluminescent bay tour with Black Beard. This was like nothing I have ever seen before. Pictures and reviews on the internet do not do it justice. Our guide Laura was so informative and wonderful. We were lucky enough to have just us and her and she put so much effort into making it perfect for us, that we can not stop talking about it. You have to ask for her... Believe us. She makes the experience even better. The vibrant colours around your paddles; fish, stingrays, (we even saw a squid!) ALL of them glow as they swim around your kayak. Add this to your bucket list. It's worth EVERY penny.... :-D

“Bio Bay Tour”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

The bio bay can't be missed, but there are other companies to try. I think Black Beard just recently started doing the Bio Bay tours so they may improve. They also do diving, snorkeling, etc and their guides are the same for all tours. We paid $50 for the bio bay tour which seemed a bit too much based on the experience. You basically paddle out to a location, stopping twice on the way, then turn back. The guides were all very nice, but not very knowledgeable about the bay. It seemed like we were killing time to fill the two hour tour. Also, one of the guides kept interrupting the leader and I couldn't understand that person's stories at all.

“Great folks - great dives”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

I agree that Vieques is not the best place in the Caribbean to dive. But since I only get to dive once a year and I enjoy it no matter what happens, I msut recommend diving while there. The folks at Blackbeard - Frank, Brian, Jared - all fabulous people who were both professional and highly amusing. I can't imagine not having a good time while in their care.

“Black Beard @ Mosquito Pier”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Great staff, easy to book, easy to find on the main street. We got a good deal on some of our advanced diving skills led by Jared. (Ask for his availibility) The dive spot was at Mosquito Pier, A must see dive area, plenty of aquatic life.

“Snorkeling in paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Sam was very knowledgable about the island. He went above and beyond just taking us out snorkeling. I was a little disappointed that there were a lot of boats anchored near where we went, but that was beyond their control. I just wish we went earlier in our trip because he enlightened us to do mug about the island we wanted to keep exploring.
