We recently spent two nights at the Jajome Terrace. Unfortunately, we were there Sunday and Monday nights, the two nights their restaurant is closed. The restaurant is really the focus of their operation and we were the only guests there at the time (they have 10 rooms), so we were kind of ignored. The place is beautiful, built on the beautifully landscaped side of a steep hill, with decks, terraces, a fountain, and a spectacular view all the way to the ocean.
The roads are narrow and winding, so driving at night was not an appealing option for us. The first night the owner offered to heat up our lunch leftovers that we brought back with us. The second night she went out and although we found her daughter, she did not have a key to the kitchen, so we had cold food. There are no phones in the room and our cell phones had no reception there, so we had no way to get in touch with anyone (there is no reception area and since we were the only ones staying there, there was no one who was available at all times).
All in all, though, we really enjoyed our stay. We spent the day driving the Ruta Panoramica through the mountainous central part of the island. It was beautiful and interesting and we drove through some small towns with very nice (but congested) plazas. We would recommend this place, with the proviso that you do not stay Sunday or Monday nights.
My major complaint was that there were no reading lights in the room and that they could not provide one when we asked. It is very quiet and peaceful there (no TV or radio), so it would have been nice to be able to read at night without straining our eyes.
