“Good Place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

This is the biggest zoo in the island. I feel it could be better. You pay a fee and is not like the zoos in the US. Not my first choice but it could be way better. Animals looked a little tired and facilities needed a little bit more of TLC.

“OK, could be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

We went for a day trip with many kids (ages 5-13). You do have to pay for parking, and pay the entrance fee right there at the parking entrance (younger than 4 are free, $8 young kids, $12 adults). They provide you with a headset that you can choose Spanish or English..throughout the zoo there are signs that indicate the number to press. The headset has a number for kids and another for adults (more serious voice and elaborate explanations). There aren't many employees surrounding the zoo. Bathrooms around the zoo had no supplies - no TP, no soap, no paper towel or hand dryer, except for the bathroom by the gift shop (entrance). For snacks, there was only a lady with popsicle kiosk, water, soda and chips to sell.

Overall, the zoo is OK. Could be more clean - bird droppings on some hand rails and some animals looked either tired or miserable. One of the tigers looked overweight and the lion's area looked small for so many animals, I think there were 4 females and 1 male. The elephant area was the prettiest. It was nice to see some animals wondering free, particularly the peackock (Pavo Real), some chickens, etc. It was nice to see camels, and other parrots that we don't have in our local zoo where we live. Good outing especially if you have young family members.

“West coast choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

If you travel with kids a visit is a must. The zoo is not design like new zoos were most animals roam freely but has a large enough variety to please the visitor. Has a nice butterfly exhibit. Lots of walking so wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
