“For mexican food in Puerto Rico”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

If you like Mexican food it is a good choice. It has life Mariachis and good service. However if you are a tourist it is far away from the tourist area and can only go by Taxi. Don't Venture on a rental car at night unless you know exactly how to get there.

“Now one of our favorite Mexican restaurants”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013 via mobile

In San Juan suburb on a shopping expedition with friends who took us to this neighborhood gem in Puerto Nuevo.

It was a bustling Sunday lunch crowd ( all locals ) but the service was pretty good nonetheless. It's not a fancy place but the food is fresh and delicious. Everything at our table - from enchiladas con mole poblano, carnitas and grouper ceviche -- was excellent. Also -- the BEST MARGARITAS EVER! Tequila, fresh lime juice, shaved ice and a touch of a special ingredient we couldn't figure out.

Food great, bill reasonable. Tried to go back for lunch the next day but sadly they were closed, Que lastima!

“Excellent but a little off the path from the tourist area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

I work in San Juan. I come to this restaurant often. The margaritas are excellent and very strong! They make an awesome guacamole pico combination that I think is the best I've ever had. It's almost a meal in itself. The Mexican food is true Mexican food, very generous portions and very tasty. The only reason I give it four is it's off the path for tourists.

As for the noise, it's a big open room - and I've only been there in the evening. Did not seem too bad to me. Food and service is excellent!

Most of the staff speak enough English so language is not a problem for only English speakers.

“Disappointing...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Chose for an informal business lunch. Mistake! Crowded, noisy, poor service (the waitress tried her best but she was overwhelmed by the amount of tables she was waiting on) and slow. Very small tables made it uncomfortable to handle even an iPad. Drinks were OK and the food was so so. Had greater expectations given the recommendation from our cab driver. Well... perhaps he gets a free lunch there every once in a while.
