Awesome food, awesome atmosphere, awesome cocktails...we love this place

We happened upon this place as part of a food and shop evening through Old San Juan on a November Monday. We arrived at approximately 7:00. Not too crowded, and more locals than tourists. We absolutely loved the ambiance. There was a ship in port, but maybe it was late enough to avoid the cruise masses? Sat at the bar, quick drink service throughout. The food did take a bit to arrive. I was on vacation, I had a drink in front of me, it didn't matter. I didn't find the speed any different than other restaurant experiences in PR. The staff was extremely friendly. The St Louis style ribs in dark rum sauce were my favorite food item of the entire trip! Likewise, their passion mojito was hands down my favorite drink of the trip. We prefer places that have a local feel, and this was tops. As I read some of the magazines they had at hostess stand and frames on the walls, I quickly discovered that this is a well-known spot with great reviews. We were lucky!

We visited the Parrot Club as part of a large group, and it was wonderful. The restaurant is on the small side, but the staff is fast (by Puerto Rico standards) and the food is excellent. The grilled Churrasco steak was incredible! The prices are in line with most of the other restaurants in Old San Juan. A dinner for two would probably run about $100 with drinks and dessert. It may not be the best place for a quiet romantic dinner, as it seems to be a little loud. The decor is very nice, with traditional colors and native art on the walls--but the chairs were a bit uncomfortable after a couple of hours! Overall, though, the Parrot Club is worth a visit.
