We spent 2 nights here using free night certificates. It worked out great for us. We were given a very nice room (we are gold members) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We used it as a home base for exploring old San Juan and taking a tour of the Bacaradi factory. The staff told us about the bus that goes to San Juan and provided excellent suggestions on things to do and where to eat in old San Juan for a traditional Puerto Rican meal. Our first night we ate at hotel restaurant which was also good and had great sevice. Would definitely stay again because of its location and helpful staff.

We spent 3 days at this Marriott before cruising. The staff were very helpful, with information about getting around on our own. We were lucky to be here during the San Sebastion Festival. Staff helped us take the bus to old San Juan. Busses are 50 cents per person. Bring quarters.
The rooms are typical for this chain. We were on the 11th floor and had a view of the bay and the fort.
I would recommend this hotel.

Good location. Restaurants and grocery store near by. Older building, but well maintained. Helpful service. Valet parking really the only option which is an additional charge. No fan in bathroom and no window...one of my pet peeves.

This hotel is just for you if you enjoy:

headaches
walking up and down the stairs becuase the elevator doesn't work
having to continuously get new room keys because they don't work (3 times in 3 days)
calling for a cab and having someone else take it
not having a view from your room
airplane decibel-level toilets
late check-in times


All in all, we knew what we were getting ourselves into but this was the ONLY hotel available the weekend before NYE... and it lived up to and exceeded its negative expectations.

The only positive: The cleaning ladies do a nice job and the front desk staff is friendly, so i don't blame them one bit.
