“Great place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

Been there for a long weekend Thurs-Sun with my girlfriend.
Rooms are very cleaned...Ac is loud but works fine.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
For the room-rate is definitely worth the money, plus is located in a great spot in Old San Juan.
If you have a car it might be a pain to find parking spots.
We will definitely use this hotel again.

We had a very good stay in this hotel. We got very lucky and could upgrade to a room with windows and a balcony, which made our stay much more pleasant than it would have been in a room without windows. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. Despite being there over a weekend, it was not at all noisy. Do not expect to use the elevator, unless you are exceptionally patient. The location is wonderful and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful, and tried to get us in our room as quickly as possible. I don't have his name. He also told us exactly where to park our rental vehicle in the city parking lot so we wouldn't have to pay much. There is no street parking as the hotel is located right in the middle of Old San Juan. This location is terrific for being close to all the action in the park, but it might not be easy getting to and from due to traffic congestion. Once you get there, it is a great location and near restaurants, shops and El Morro park.

Room Tip: No hotel parking, so park in city parking lot. Ask hotel staff where in the parking lot you should...

We stayed for second time in this lovely hotel during the "Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastian" in the Old San Juan. Hotel personnel was very nice, specially with mom who is handicapped. We stayed for the second tim, and we loved it. The hotel iis in the middle of the party, easy to walk around during this weekend when use a car to reach Old San Juan is almost imposibble. Looking forward to return next year.

Stayed one night before a cruise. Great staff and perfect location. They hold your luggage so you can explore with no worries. It's basic but clean and it's right in the heart of the city. It's old world charm just adds value to your visit. It's my second stay here and will be my first choice on any future visits!

the location was perfect. it is right in the middle of a square that is surrounded by great little streets of food drinks and shopping. I went with my boyfriend and another couple and we had a fantastic time. We ate and drank a lot, never hitting the same place twice. It is a centrally located so no car is necessary. The hotel is vintage, the rooms are small and quaint , and the inside is just so different. You spend most of your time out of your room, but if u wanted to stay in, there's a coffee bar and cute little cafe right downstairs. This place is for the adventurer and not one who wants to go on a computer, watch tv and stay indoors!

The location was good as far as being close to everything but not much else was good about it. No internet in room. Didnt have room cleaned for 4 days. Tv was out 1 night and no telephone so when you needed something you had to go down to the desk to ask.

Room Tip: Streetside rooms have windows

Thanks a lot Mr. Kevin for taking the time out of your tight schedule to make a review about your recent stay in Old San Juan.

I'm really sorry for you feeling this way. Please accept our most sincere apologies for the inconveniences mentioned.

We work very hard to exceed our guests expectations and take very seriously our guest comments.

However we must clarify a couple of things for the benefit of our future visitors.

1.- We are indeed a Landmark (Historic) Building, there is a picture of 1920's in our fanpage in Facebook and our building was already here in that year and that's the charm of being here, to enjoy the raw nature of our culture just in the heart of Old San Juan.

2.- At the moment we have internet in common areas. We are working pretty hard to make it happen inside the rooms. However our internet access is FREE and that happen rarely in most hotel in the area since they charge you a fee for the use of it.

3.- Our housekeeping service is on a daily base, It is impossible for us to let a room unclean for 4 days in a row. Telling that your room was without housekeeping service for 4 days is like using some kind of hyperbolic words and besides nobody could stay in any place without a cleaning service for so long without properly taking care of.

4.- Yes we do have a situation with our internal telephone line. We are making arrengement to fix that situation as soon as possible.

Yes indeed we have the best location at Old San Juan because we have a great combination of facilities to get you around the old city: a taxi line just in the front and a trolley stop just in our door, but if you preferred walking, everything is just minutes away.

Yes, you can always look for other location nearby, but they will be always not like us. The combination of conveniences that we have allow us to be UNIQUE.

Mr. Kevin, allow me to tell you that your feedback help us to improve our services and property on a daily basis. It's our goal that any comment or issues that could be present during your stay are going to be addressed in a proper way.

Our principal concern is to meet the needs of each and every guest we serve and always try to exceed their expectations in order to make their stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

We want that every person arrives as a guest and always leaves as our friend.

Thanks again.

Luis Garzon
