My husband and I just got back from 3 nights at "At Wind Chimes", and absolutely loved it. Our room was lovely (and big!), with huge windows and a little balcony. We were overlooking the courtyard and never heard any noise, even the first night when we slept with the windows open. The overall atmosphere is very casual and relaxing...there are nice sitting areas outside of almost every room, the roof top deck above the bar was beautiful. The pool area is very nice, we would have full run of it most days when we came back from the beach (beach is only a short block away and they offer beach chairs to rent). Each bartender was friendly, and very informative of the area. The inn felt very intimate, and was so much better than any big resort hotel I have stayed in the past. Is in easy walking distance to Ocean Park (to the east), and the main part of Condado Beach (to the west).

Ask the bartenders about Plaza Mercado on Thurs. and Saturdays, it was within walking distance and really cool. On Calle Los Banos, a few blocks to the east, there is a small local restaurant where you can get very cheap egg breakfast ($7.00 for two people), and keep going a couple more blocks east to Pinky's where you can get some of the best sandwiches you've ever tasted. In the same block as the hotel, one block south is a restaurant (the name slips my mind), that serves yummy Cuban food with local specialties like Mofongo. Ummo's in Condado Beach was a great meal as well. And for those that need it....there's a Starbucks a couple of blocks west.

Overall, our stay was unbelievable. Most times we felt like we had the place all to ourselves. We would go back again in a heartbeat.

Stayed there a while ago, tried to go back recently but it was sold out!!! Anyway, this is a great place. Close to the beach, nice swimming pool, helpful staff who let us shower after checkout and holding our luggage all day.

Bartender made us great drinks!

Good times.

“Nice and relaxing”

Nice, quiet place in a great location, just a short block from San Juan's Condado Beach. Modest room just off the inner courtyard with a tiny bathroom. Clean and contained, a short walk from restaurants, buses, oh....and did I say the beach?! Helpful and friendly staff, EZ reservations, really good and fresh food at the "poolside" bar.

The room smelled musty at first but fans and a few minutes of AC took care of it. Some noise off the courtyard-people coming in late at night-but not that bad.

This was our third stay at Wind Chimes, and we love this place. No it is not fancy, but it is comfortable. The bar staff and cleaning staff ( we love these ladies ) are very sociable ,as are the office staff. It is convienient to the bus route to anywhere in Puerto Rico. You can utilise the spa at the beautiful Acacia Inn, or just chill in the pool at WC. This year our grandaughter, who has a cronic kidney stone problem accompanied us on our trip, and we had spent 13 glories days at Villa Sevilla, before ending our trip at Wind Chimes. Later that night she was screaming in pain and unable to move. I went to the front desk and told them what was happening. Within 20 mins they had a dr in the hotel room and all was well. The following day they made sure we had everything we needed. I am telling you this to let you know that Wind Chimes has a good caring staff, that will look after you.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this hotel. We chose this one because of mostly positive reviews, location, and what we felt was a very good room rate. The hotel was just ok. Not quite as 'quaint' as I had hoped for. We stayed in room 101, which was right by the lobby area and front door. Very noisy late at night as other guest were retuning. The front door does not close quietly!!
They offered a continental breakfast for purchase...$11.95!!! It only included bagels, pastries, fruit, juice and coffee. (I don't think so...!)
Parking was a nightmare and we weren't there on a weekend. When we made our reservation the manager said she would put us down for a reserved spot (for $10/day). When we arrived, there wasn't a spot for us. Guess she forgot.
My biggest disappointment was with our final bill. First, at check in we were charged in full for all 3 nights. We were only given the charge receipt, not a detailed bill. When we were leaving, my husband requested a detail bill. WELL.....in addition to the $85/night that we had been quoted, there was a "other" charge of $ 42 and taxes. I have called about this 'other charge' and was awkwardly told it was taxes. We know that is not right. BEWARE!
