“Water Everywhere !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

Easy ride to get to beach. It's a pack your own lunch and drinks beach they have bathrooms available. Keep an eye on children with tides. There are shallower inlets surrounded by lots of rocks and or coral, keeps unwanted big fish out like sharks and the like. Safer for kids. Beach is sandy. Humidity is unreal very hot and humid water is cooler. WATCH out for SUNBURN !!! , you can still get bad burn on cloudy day .Overall, scenery is very nice and clean.

“Rough waves! - for the timid- try La Playita”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

Condado beach is beautiful- but the waves are pretty heavy most of the time- red flags are the norm it seems. For those looking for a clam beach to swim or sit in, take a brief walk down next to the Conrad Hotel to La Playita, a small public beach on a protected inlet- water is smooth as a bath tub, and very relaxing! No fee unless you want to rent a chair.

“Stayed at La Concha for a week on this beautiful beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013 via mobile

I love Condado beach. I've been to several north Florida beaches which are absolutely beautiful. Condado is comparable. No white sand but a beautiful brown sand. On closer inspection the sand is multicolored with black rock, white sand and other things. Waves hit the beach with such force that you can see sand floating in the waves. It's a really cool sight.

“The Beach in Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Puerto Rico is filled with gorgeous beaches. If you're staying in San Juan, like most people who visit, this is the beach you can get to with a simple cab ride, or possibly right outside your hotel if you stay on the beach. The more spectacular beaches require some combination of rental car, bus and even ferry ride.

Nothing really wrong with this beach. You will get some waves here here, but the water is calm enough to swim a bit. Water is nice and blue, sand is soft and great. It's easy to find a chair or umbrella and just about anything else you want as the vendors will be active on busy days.

The downsides? Well, it's a city beach, so most of the downsides are the human issues that go along with that. It can be crowded, and some people are discourteous, dont clean up after themselves, their pets, etc. If you want the tranquil paradise feel, this isn't it.

Now on the other hand, this is an exciting area of town, so you do have the advantage of lots of bars and restaurants within a quick walk once you're done with your sun worship.

Do be aware that parking can be a problem. Expect to have to pay for it, and do not be terribly picky. The lot you passed up 5 minutes ago may be full when you circle back. And also, if you're in a rental, you'll be thankful if you took the insurance because they really pack the cars into these things and dents and dings are common.
