“Good for one night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

We stayed here for one night prior to our cruise. The hotel was clean. The front desk efficient and friendly. The bellhop was outstanding. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom needed updating as there were signs of mold and the bathtub stopper was left on the side of tub and was gross. Since we took showers it didnt affect us.

The ice machine did not work on our floor. Didnt bother trying to find one that did.

When we went to use the pool there were no towels so we didnt bother.

Check out again was very efficent and taxis available when you need them.

I stayed here last October for some nights on the Ambassador floor which gave us some perks like a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast itself is reasonable, don't expect too much. The rooms were large and clean. The ladies at the excusrsion desk were the best! Very helpful and friendly! As I parked my rental car on the parking lot of the hotel I was charged for it on my room. As I paid for it by check out I noticed they had charged one day too much. They took it of my statement and it was noted down as a credit. Unfortunately it was never credited in the end. I have contacted them by email but no response. Because of this matter I will never stay here again. Bad customer sercive!

The Ambassador is not a 4 star hotel, but it was clean, comfortable and affordable. It is in a convenient location, close to restaurants and night life. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The roof top pool is a fun addition and a great place to spend a day. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Be sure to eat at Paleyo, it is next to the Quality Inn in Condado, just a short walk from the hotel. A local place with great food and friendly staff. BudTai was also an excellent restaurant for dinner. Stay away from Denny's International - lousy food and the staff was miserable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on higher floors - they will be less noisy - the night club in the casino stays open...

I have stayed here for 4 days in the ambassador suite . the room was big and ok, view was so so. the service from the hotel is excellent however the special desk for ambassador members had a lousy service.. which should have been better than the front desk! Breakfast was so so.. when I had to extend for a day longer due to hurricain Sandy we went to the Renassaince - same price and 10 x better. A special thanks to Katia from the tour desk, such a lovely and friendly girl who was ready to help with anyting you want to arrange on the island. I love Puerto Rico

We checked in to the Radisson after one night of a "not so pleasant" stay down the road. Once we arrived, the concierge, Jimmy, jumped right in and started to help me out with bags, sights and places to eat. In passing I mentioned that my new bride and I were wanting to explore the island and he gave us some insight to some off the path places. Once we returned we were surprised by a tray of complimentary crackers and cheese, wine and a handwritten card from him and the manager. I have already booked the executive suite for Feb 2013!!

First, the aprking is like hell. After parking you car in level 2, you have to figure out yourself how to go back to the hotel. It was crowded, justblike the lobby that is not a lobby in fact because it is the casino- disco entrance. You cannot even hear the people in the desk. Second you have to cross the danse floor to go to the elevator. There was a particular smell and my husband got an allergy with dust, thak God he did not have his astma crisis.
Third, we ordered a pina colada at the disco bar, the pineapple seemed to be out of date, not yellow at all and smells bad...
When we decided to check-out, the lady at the front desk was very impolite and shows some arrogance. We had to shorten our stay there.
Is it one of the best hotels in San Juan, really???

We booked this hotel through Priceline for two days prior to a cruise and one day after. We later found that there was an additional 11% hotel tax that "Priceline doesn't include in their taxes/fees" according to the front desk. They did remove the "Little Stars" automatic charge for the Radisson charity fund since we have our own charity donations. You also don't get points with Radisson if purchased through a second party.

Now onto the hotel itself. The taxi fee from the airport here is $17 plus the baggage fees so not too bad. To the port the rate is $14 plus baggage. The hotel has a Burger King across the street then a Taco place, Subway and Walgreens on down the block so perfect for quick eats and any last minute stuff before a cruise. Our room had a lovely view over the air conditioning units but we could see the beach between buildings. It was fairly clean although the TV did have a few hiccups which could have been a result of weather and distance from the sources in New York and Miami. We did have free wifi although didn't neet it, free drink coupons which we used in the restaurant and the tightest slot machines I have ever seen in my life.

On our return stay, we got there at 1 since check-in time we didn't anticipate any room availability although they said a lot of folks from the ship had already checked in. Our room wasn't available so we left our bags with the bellhop and went the other direction on the block to The Place for a great burger and fantastic happy hour prices for beer. When we got back at 3, our room still wasn't available so they upgraded us to a suite. This room on the same side of hotel as the pre-cruise stay had a much nicer balcony and view with two rooms. The sleep number bed didn't work on my side and I ended up sleeping on the sofa. We were going to have breakfast at the hotel but found out they had changed their hours and only had room service breakfast. So we ended up with another trip to Burger King before our trip to the airport.

Bottomline - Clean rooms, cheap price on priceline ($80/night), convenient to cheap food and Walgreens for forgotten cruise items, couldn't compare to our suite on the Carnival Victory, probably wouldn't choose to stay here on a second trip.
