Hi all, My wife and I stayed in this hotel prior to a cruise. It was very cozy and surprisingly very quiet at night. The room was spacious and confy. Close to many diferent useful businesses. The beach was just a few minutes away, and restaurants. I would recomend this little nice hotel for a stay. I will be booking again with this hotel for my next stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Lagoon for our first trip to San Juan this winter, and absolutely loved it. The rooms are spacious, with a mini fridge, plenty of dresser space, and tile floors. The view from our Balcony was beautiful, and we spent several hours just looking at the city at night.

I booked the El Canario as a budget pre-cruise stay for my family reunion. We checked in on Thursday and checked-out on Sunday for our cruise. The hotel is budget nothing fancy but it was in a great location to the beach, walking and restaurants. We enjoyed sitting outside on the benches and relaxing and the staff was very friendly. We walked to the Marriott to their casino and Walgreens was right there for snacks. We walked five minutes to the bus stop and paid 75 cents to ride the bus to old San Juan, this was excellent, sooo easy to do, do not get a cab at all. When we did need a cab to go to the cruise port they were there in five minutes. When we returned from our cruise, we went back for 1 more night stay and when we went to the airport the next morning, the cabs were right there instantly. the only drawback is that the elevator is tiny and slow as molasses, but the rooms were clean and had an island feel to them though basic but very affordable. I would stay there again if I was cruising.

I booked this hotel before reading all the reviews on TripAdvisor, so was a bit worried. I only needed one night in a hotel in San Juan, I was arriving late at night and leaving early the next morning. The room was very clean. The room was very basic - not well lit, very simple furnishings. I have to believe there is a better value in San Juan, but I couldn't find one in my research before I got there. The breakfast is very minimal, some bread, fruit, and Kellogg's cereals. I was able to park my rental car in their alley.
