“Close to bus stop, taxis, Walgreens, beach. Clean, safe, comfortable.”
Breakfast is included. It was on the patio from 7am-10am. There was milk, orange juice, coffee, pastry, bananas. Free newpapers except on Sundays.
The bus stop to Old San Juan was right around the corner, only a few steps away, a 30 second walk and cost only 75 cents. It seems to come every 45 minutes--no schedule. The last bus back from Old San Juan is 8pm. Take the B21 bus to and from Old San Juan. Once in Old San Juan, take the free green trolley. It stops in front of both San Cristobal and El Morro forts. It also goes all around town. The town has Wendy's, McDonalds, Walgreens as well as lots of restaurants and shops. The trolley seemed to pass by every 10 minutes.
There are always taxis hanging right outside, across the street. The area felt safe because they were there, even at night and even at 7am on New Year's Day. There was construction next door, so there was a guard on the sidewalk next to our hotel.
I went with my 2 teenage daughters on (12/30 to 1/1) New Year's Eve and we felt safe at all times.
Restaurants closed before 9:30pm on New Year's Eve, but there was always Walgreens across the street. There is a food mart inside of Walgreens. And you can use the microwave in the lobby.
The room had no bugs. They don't allow food in the rooms, so we didn't see any roaches. We were on the 3rd floor. It was clean, the water pressure was ok, hot water was ok. It was noisy. The safety deposit box takes pushing with your foot at the same time pulling the key with your hand. If you don't give up, the safety deposit box DOES work.
