“Worth the visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

Have been to Puerto Rico three times now. Finally got around to making the trip over to the rum factory. Glad we did. It was a fun tour, didn't take a long time, and was very informative. Employees were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic!

“Great little tour and free drinks!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

This is a great free little tour on the making of rum and it's history. The tour included a couple of galleries, including a video.. and at the end of the tour there is a short lesson on how to make a couple of mixed drinks using rum.
When you arrive you receive two drink tickets, which you can choose to use before or after the tour...I preferred after.
They also have some food and drinks that you can purchase and a little souvenir shop. I recommend this to people who are interested in a little rum history and who wouldn't mind 2 free drinks.

“Tour & free drinks - such a deal :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

We had a great time. Good visit if you are interested in rum, industrial/cultural history, or family businesses. Or sitting in the shade and enjoying some free alcohol. If what you want is a drink (no tour, no waiting), you may be happier at a bar.

You park your car (or get out of your bus) and go to the giant pavilion to get your "tickets", which are free. Each adult gets a tour ticket and 2 drink tickets. Many people grab the free drinks before their tour, we waited until after (less rushed, less crowded).

The tour was a good 45 minutes or so and included at least 7 different spaces/galleries. Hint: talk up the guides they were each really interesting on our tour. You won't see inside the actual production facility, but you will see lots of things including some murals of the history of Bacardi and rum in the Caribbean, a movie (check out the night-sky constellation lighting above), some retired stills & aging barrels, lots of historic photos & bottles and such, a bar-tending exhibition, sniffers (no drinking yet) of most all the Bacardi rum products...

The drink tickets are for smallish-sized drinks, they offer most Bacardi products (up through their 8 yr old - the older/fancier stuff is not on pour) including the coconut and other flavored rums, and lots of mixer options. If you like spirits (aged rum, whiskey, cognac etc) , consider making one of your free drinks straight Bacardi 8yr old - the bar tender was quite generous. There is also a cash bar with made-from-scratch mojitos and other premium choices, in much larger portions - Feb 2013 these were $10 each.

There is also a gift shop, small snack bar and a stage(makes me think that sometimes they have live music or other entertainment).

“Best fish ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Had the best fish ever called Mero fillet, with a professional cooking! Good combination with banana "cake" rice and beans.

To drink... Piña colada! Best in town!

“Can't beat free drinks!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

The tour itself was ok. They had a couple different rooms that you went into that showed some of the processes the rum goes through. One room had some neat old memoribilia (in Spanish), another had sniffing barrells where you could smell the various kinds of rum--actually learned quite a bit here! They also had a bartender demonstration and the bartender was great! The best part of the short tour though was the two free drinks. The souvenier shop had good prices on the bottles of rum. It is a great way to spend an hour or so while before heading out to another destination. The plant was really easy to find--right on the main road. Get there early to avoid the cruise tours.
