“Best fish ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Had the best fish ever called Mero fillet, with a professional cooking! Good combination with banana "cake" rice and beans.

To drink... Piña colada! Best in town!

“Can't beat free drinks!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

The tour itself was ok. They had a couple different rooms that you went into that showed some of the processes the rum goes through. One room had some neat old memoribilia (in Spanish), another had sniffing barrells where you could smell the various kinds of rum--actually learned quite a bit here! They also had a bartender demonstration and the bartender was great! The best part of the short tour though was the two free drinks. The souvenier shop had good prices on the bottles of rum. It is a great way to spend an hour or so while before heading out to another destination. The plant was really easy to find--right on the main road. Get there early to avoid the cruise tours.

“Really nice experience !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

So this is not a factory tour, it is a museum and Bacardi history tour. This short tour is free and it is accompanied by two free drins of your choice followed by mixers under a bat shaped pavillion in the open carribean air ! Short tour to the facilites, the distillery, short guide to bacardi first cocktails and the original recipes and how to prepare them. There is direct ferry from the factory to Old San Juan. It is a fun experience someone should while in Puerto Rico.

“A little history and two free drinks in the tropics!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

As the other reviewers have said, this is not a factory tour. It is a museum and Bacardi history experience followed by two drinks (your choice of rum and mixers!) outside, underneath a massive pavilion in the tropic air. And it's all free! The museum has a lot of interesting exhibits and you will want to read them all.

Save the cab fare and don't sign up for one of those city tours just to get there. For 50 cents (a dollar round trip) you take the ferry from Old San Juan and get a view of the city from the harbor. It's a regular commuter shuttle, so there's no narration. On the other side, there are taxi like vans that take you directly to the factory for $3. It's a very short ride, but a rather long walk. The rub is, on the way back to the ferry dock, you want to wait until there are a few other people who have done the same thing so it's a $3 ride back. I think it was four total, since the private van ride back would have been $12. It's worth a short wait and there will be other people who will be happy to share the ride.

“fun! lots of history on rum... and free drinks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

if you have an afternoon to spare, it's worthwhile to go out to the bacardi rum factory. we took a cab there from condado and returned via the ferry to old san juan (very convenient.) Free tour, two free drinks when you get there. Then an informative and lively tour about this history of the bacardi factory and how the rum is actually made.
