“Nice Property, rooms could use an upgrade!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We had a nice stay at the Caribe in November. The weather was perfect and the beach and amenities were great. We had a room looking at the ocean and it was really nice. The Starbucks in the lobby is great, as well as the Mortons. We loved having those places close. As well, the pool and beach area is nice. We enjoyed the yoga and pilates classes in the morning. The rooms are a bit old, and needed some repairs. The carpet is stained and the bathrooms need a good deep clean. The towels and sheets were clean. The hotel really has everything you need. It's a bit far from Old San Juan, but a quick cab ride and you're there. We spent most of our evenings in Old San Juan and appreciated the hotels ability to get cabs quickly and staff was always around to help or answer questions. Would recommend this hotel due to it's access to the beach, great amenities and great staff. If you're looking for fancy/luxury rooms this place is not for you. The price was right and it was nice for a good 5 day holiday!

We were on our way to St. Thomas and thought we would break up the trip with a few days in Puerto Rico. We had a bunch of Hilton points and thought we would use them. Our tower was called the Hilton Honors Tower and we had reserved what they called an "ocean view" room. Well . . . our view was much more of a parking lot where every morning around 5:00 AM we had the pleasure of listening to the "beep, beep beep" of the garbage trucks picking up the trash. The closet was so close to one of the double beds that it was totally useless. And it was a very outdated musty smelling room. However the service at ell the restaurants was excellent (unlike the front desk). Beach and pool were very good! Luckily we were spending a week!

We stayed on the 16th floor overlooking the ocean and garden. It was a nice view. It's a beachfront property but it's a lagoon beach, good for small children because of the calm water. The room had a mini fridge, a safe, and coffee maker. The bed was very comfortable. We had a room with two double beds. The bathroom was spacious with two sinks and enough counter space. The garden has a pool and hot tub that's not as crowded as the main pool area...and the ducks and peacocks roaming around freely...there's a Starbucks and Quiznos on the property along with more expensive restaurants, like Morten's Steakhouse and Lemongrass...

I mis-booked a 4 night stay for the previous week. This was discovered only when my wife and I drove up to the hotel (after several days in Rincon). The lady at the desk working with the manager found us a suitable room (walk-in shower needed) at an affordable price. Bravo!

First off, how can you not love Puerto Rico? This place calms the soul and refreshes the spirit within, and I am not just talking about the country. I have had the pleasure on numerous occasions to to stay at the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan Puerto Rico. The staff is incredibly friendly and beyond helpful. I am not a big hotel dining person, so I walked over to the concierge desk and asked about places to dine. Without skipping a beat he asked "what foods do I like". I replied "I am open surprise me". I was sent to this lovely mom and pop restaurant (no fanfare) in the heart of Old San Juan, and let me tell you the food was marvelous!!!!!!! I was never told to "tell them I sent you". I was in San Juan for a convention that was being held at the hotel. I met one of the best Mgrs. from the hotel Nelson Torres. Mr Torres was so accommodating and patient, which is not what I have received in the past at other hotel chains in the area.

I recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay in PR, that they look to reserve a room at the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan Puerto Rico

Hotel has 3 restaurants, bar, pool and their own private beach. My room was little bit of out dated but it was comfortable and clean. All the rooms have their own balcony and view from room was excellent. Hotels location is close to old san juan, condados and mira mar. From airport to Hotel takes only 15 to 20 min. taxi ride. Cost of the taxi ride would be min 22 usd and up, it depends the your number of suitcase.

We had a great stay here from start to finish. Loved the open air lobby with a view of the sea as soon as we got out of the taxi, especially since we were coming from another hotel in town that was way less satisfactory. This view made me just sigh with relief and SMILE.

Our room was fine and had a good view, basically what you see in the profile pic on their website. it looked just like the picture that's for sure! Unfortunately, our room had alot of excess noise from the ventilation system, which was directly below us. it didn't bother me, but my husband did not like it at all and we defintiely had to close the door while making phone calls. The room itself was comfortable and clean. i did expect it to be a little but larger and the balcony was small as well, but certainly functional for two people sitting outside to enjoy the view. We spent 5 nights there and if we were staying longer, I would have needed a bigger room. we had 4 couples in our group and everyone had this basic size room.

The pool areas were nice but a little congested, of course. Even so, there was always seating available. this is NOT one of those resorts where if you don't go claim your chair for the day by 9 am, you are out of luck. I find that rather annoying and was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case at this property. There are pools but also a small beach. Patio area, grassy area also with lawn chairs, beach area and even a nice sandy area shaded with palm trees and hung with hammocks too. Very nice. Something for everyone as far as the outside area here. Thumbs up. We actually never used the pools, only the beach area and the beach area was not crowded at all.

The restaurants and bars are fine. they honestly could use another bar option on the property and strangely, their main lobby bar doesn't open until 5 pm. that makes things hard if you get a rainy day. There aren't that many options for poor weather eating and drinking here. We did visit Morton's and that was very good. it was nice to find a high end restaurant on-site. The other upper end restaurant didn't have a very large menu (as far as we could tell) and a much smaller wine list so we did not try that. There is a smaller restaurant / bar option there called Pina Colada's and we found it quite good and also reasonably priced but it's kind of in a far flung corner of the resort. No scenery here. But that's where we found the best day time food.

The service was good here and we enjoyed our stay. it wasn't cheap and drinks are a little on the outrageous side but that's how things go when you are a captive audience. We tried to keep our on-site drinking to a drink or two in the lobby bar and then we headed out to Old San Juan for something a little more local and reasonably priced choices. but all in all, we enjoyed the hotel and found it clean and inviting and friendly. I'm not sure if we will go back to San Juan or not, but if we do, I would definitely book here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesnt overlook the ventilation system. Noisy! they do have Ocean View rooms o...
