The Caribe Hilton offers the best of all worlds in the heart of San Juan-- a small, private beach right on the water and close proximity to Old San Juan. If you are looking for a total beach experience, this may not be the place for you (instead, look at the properties in Isla Verde), but if you are looking for a good mix of sun/sand and city, this is a great option. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the service was very good. The property offers alot of outdoor options, from tables on the terrace, a swim-up bar, hammocks in the shade, to a private beach with a protected swimming area.

I truely enjoyed my stay at the hotel during the Sebastain festival. I arrived at 1pm and it did take 3 hours for a room to become available but that did not matter because I enjoyed the hote'ls outdoor ameninties. Sleeping on a hammock while watching the waves crash against the shore let me know that I was on vacation. I did not get a deal on this hotel, it was one of the only hotels with availability during the 2nd week in January - busy because of the Sebastian Festival in Old San Juan, but it was a good value. Hotel is in close proximity to the airport and old san juan and the private beach and outdoor area is one of the best I have seen in San Juan. You must try their frozen Mango Mojito. Room service is available and the food is average. The room was spacious but the walls were thin, we could here the neighbors conversate as if there was a window connecting the two rooms.

Good value staying there - has it's own beach. The restaurants could be better - but we had coffee each morning at the Starbucks on site. Staff was very helpful. The entrance to the hotel could be improved - the lobby was nice gave it a tropical feel. The conciegre was very helpful in suggesting restaurants.

They have a magnificent location, close to the airport as well as the cruise pier. It is right on the beach as well in a beautiful spot. We love the service they provide as well. It can get a bit crowded at times, but still worth the stay! They do charge those resort fees, so ask before you go. We were surprised one visit when they just tacked it onto our bill and it hadn't been included in the booking price. The one thing that you can't miss is the American Breakfast! It is amaing...expensive, but worth it for at least one morning. Go closer to the end time and it can count for lunch as well.
