“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012

I was at this hotel in April 2012 for a conference. The amenities were terrific, and the conference facilities were very good. I brought my partner, and he had plenty to do while I was in conference sessions. There were a variety of restaurants, and it was easy to get around from our hotel. We had a beautiful view of the sea from our large room.

Room Tip: San Juan is EXPENSIVE!! Be prepared!

Staying at the Caribe Hilton was a nice experience. The resort staff was friendly and extremely helpful. My room located in the Tower had at a side few of the ocean and the downstairs’ lobby. The few things that I have to say is that their private beach with is nice for a resort to have, is situated on big rocks/reefs on the ocean flood. You have to be careful not to stub your toe in the water. The pool was a basic resort pool! Their restaurants especially The Parrot Club were over priced. This on top of having to pay a resort fee, which for me came to $26.50 a day! I’m wasn’t disappointed with the Resort in and of itself, I just think that you are going to pay a little more for staying there once you’re there. If you stay be sure to get the most out of your stay. Like utilize the fitness center, the mini-golf course and the tennis court since it’s including in the resort fee. As far as location, Old San Juan is just 10minutes away by bus. For $.75 cent, I suggest use the bus to get there and if you have to, take a taxi back for about $12 to $14. All in all, the Caribe Hilton is a nice resort. I would recommend it!

Room Tip: Get a room either facing the ocean or a side view facing the ocean. You won't go wrong!

This hotel's definitely updated itself. I stayed here several years ago and it really needed renovation. However, there restaurants have really gone downhill. The place is out of the way from EVERYTHING, whether Condado or Old San Juan. This is an AWFUL place for a conference, in my opinion, b/c of the location and the restaurants on property, in particular. There are very few places within walking distance to goto. If you're going to venture off, goto El Hamberguer nearby- it's about a 15 minute walk.

On the positive side, the conference room spaces are oh kay for the most part. However, there were a few rooms that were very loud b/c of noise from hallways or backrooms of the hotel.

This would not be high on my list if I was either planning a conference or staying on vacation due to the reasons stated about.

We stayed there 2 weeks ago May 1st to 6th and LOVED IT! The room was nice, clean, and well stocked. The bed was super comfy with lots of pillows. The staff was verrrrry friendly and helpful with giving tips on where to eat (Danny at the concierge desk) and what to go see (Victor in housekeeping) and just making sure we had everything we needed. The food there is decent but VERY EXPENSIVE but it is the Hilton. Morton's Steakhouse was so expensive we decided to skip it even though we had planned for it. The breakfast buffet is $24 pp and was good but not spectacular. The lobby bar was hopping on Friday and Saturday nights. The pool is beautiful and the beach has plenty of lounging beds and chairs. We just loved the hotel and the staff. It was a dream honeymoon!

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view and are quieter. You can ask for a microwave be brought to your roo...

We stayed at the Caribe Hilton one night during our recent stay in PR. We got a great deal on it through priceline but it is quite pricey otherwise, and the room rate does not include resort fee, which is extra, internet is about ~$10 day (who even charges for internet anymore?), valet parking is $20 for guests etc.. Also, the restaurants on the hotel property are quite expensive, we got two pina coladas at the bar, costing ~$30.
We got a room on the top floor of the Hilton Honors tower with a beautiful view of the beach area from the balcony, the room was very clean, looked new and even had a mini fridge. The beach area is relatively small, but not too small to feel crowded, and is surrounded by wavebreakers, so it is a nice place to swim even for small kids. Hotel provides towels/chair including in the room rate and also has kayaks, snorkling gear and floats for extra. Next to the beach is also a swimming pool, pool bar, area with several hammocks, oversized ground chess board. There is no hot tub however. On the other side of the property, there is a fitness center, tennis court, and mini golf, they also provide bike rentals.

Hotel provides several activities throughout the day, e.g. fish feeding, pilates class, Spanish lesson, free float hour, pina colada tasting at the pool bar etc., so even if you stay at the property most of the time, there are plenty of things to do. And the hotel beach is the nicest in the area unless you are looking for the waves.

We have seen a lot of business travelers at the hotel, so it is not exactly a party place, there is no club or casino, but it is perfect if you are just looking to relax on the beach. The service was also great the entire time, the stuff was friendly and we were even allowed to check in at noon while the official check in time is 4 pm. We would definitely go back if we could get a similar price.

Room Tip: Top floor of HH tower has an amazing view!

I just returned from San Juan and my stay at the Caribe Hilton hotel. The hotel and grounds were absolutely beautiful. The room was very clean and comfortable, best bed I have ever slept in. We had a balcony that overlooked the ocean. The employees of the hotel were very pleasant and accommodating. The restaurants at the hotel were excellent, I loved Mortons happy hour special bar menu with special price drinks and food items. To sum up our trip we loved everything and want to return next year!

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the ocean. We were on the fifth floor.

We just returned last night from San Juan and the Hilton. It was a great place for a wedding, the hotel is very pretty, the grounds are well kept..not perfect but nice, the pool area and beach area are great...nice to have both options. The pool bar and restaurant was nice...the staff was not always very friendly though. The shakers you can buy for $22 and get refills for $16 are the best deal although they kept running out of the shakers!! The lobby area was pretty and it had lots of areas to sit, lounge and suft the net. The Stabucks was very convenient. They had a few shops there...expensive but nice. The Pina Coloda Club was really cute and the food was great...prices weren't too bad either. The rooms were a nice size..the beds very comfortable, each had a small balcony. The bathrooms was a nice size too. I was very happy with the rooms. It was near the Condado......a 15 min walk..not bad. Old San Juan was about a 20-25 min. walk. The best thing about this hotel is the pool area. I did not use the Spa so I cannot comment. Need to take a cab or walk a min. of 15 min for other good restaurants...only a Subway close.

Room Tip: get ones facing Old San Juan if possible...nice views
