Numero Uno Guest House is located in Ocean Park, a residential Puerto Rican neighborhood, and is literally right on the beach. We actually chose it because there are tables placed on the beach! The guest house is small - only 14 rooms, but is quaint, lovely with great service and a fabulous location. Pamela's restaurant is on the hotel grounds and is very good but also quite expensive. The bloody mary's are excellent if not unique. The rooms are small but comfortable, clean and updated. We stayed in Room 6 which was one of the "moderate accomodations". But we were on the 1st floor and just steps to the beach - perfect. The beach was huge - on the weekdays it was sparsely populated which was great. The hotel provides lounge chairs and tables for the drinks that they serve you on the beach. We did order beers from the hotel for about $5 each before we realized the "beer guy" - he strolls the beach w/ a beer cooler and beer for about $3 - good to know. We could easily walk into Condado from our hotel - which is full of restaurants and shops. We much preferred Old San Juan, though, which is about a 10 minute drive. There is a great "burger joint" about 1/2 mile straight up the street from Numero Uno - my husband had the best Kobe beef burger and I enjoyed the fried yucca.
