i was in san juan last summer for just five days, but after my first night there, i knew i had found my haunt of choice at el batey. the jukebox kicks ass, and the stripped down interior felt like any bar in the lower east side in manhattan... only with a much more attractive, well-tanned crowd. this was easily one of the hippest places i hit while i was there, and was perfect for the one rainy afternoon we had. the mellow crowd and the pool table were jus tthe trick... i'd reccomend it easily to anyone who leans toward a younger, rougher, more interesting crowd.
