“Charming Hotel close to everything in Old San Juan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed for two nights at CasaBlanca and loved it! The hotel itself is updated throughout (baths, AC, etc) but has a really charming historic feel to it. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The soaking tubs on the roof were a great touch--thoroughly enjoyed a beer there, a soak, and the view.

Great restaurants all around. Close to all shopping and sights.

We would definitely return when we are in San Juan. So much more fun that a standard, "modern" hotel.

We stayed at CasaBlanca Hotel the day before our cruise out of San Juan. The hotel was absolutely amazing. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, including helping to carry our luggage up to our room - there is no elevator in the hotel. The hotel has a great historic feel and offers all the modern amenities found at much more expensive properties. The rooftop view is incredible and well worth the walk up to the top. The hotel is an easy walk to the cruise terminal with your luggage. For a great stay in Old San Juan I would highly recommend this hotel.

Well, first we arrived too early, 10:30am, and they could not do a early checkin, that's okay, since the hotel had no rooms left, the front desk lady, very nicely, asked us to leave our luggage and get back after 3pm! 3?! Okay, we left our things and went out... When we got back around 3pm at first moment she did not recognize us, than she did, was a weird moment.. They we got our bedroom, 3rd floor, no elevator, the room had no window, we asked to be changed, then we got a bedroom with window but on 5th floor and the bathroom with only cold water... At the breakfast the waiter brought the food we order, but forgot my coffee, 10mins later I asked about, she brought in 20 seconds... Well, hotel is clean and nice, but for staying just one night those small confusions really bothered me a lot...

Hello Rafael,

Thank you very much for choosing CasaBlanca, we are very sorry that your experience with us was not up to other guests experiences. We have talked to our Front Desk Associate and she is so terrible sorry for not recognizing you when you arrived back at the hotel at 3pm. She will make a good effort to improve and we have had a long conversation about this incident with her.

Tips for future travelers: All Interior Classic Queen rooms have a window to the interior of the Hotel. We have built multiple air and natural light shafts along the building that provide for natural light in each room. Old Town Architecture here is known for buildings tightly built next to each other. Please look for our Balcony Queen and Suite Rooms which face the front of the building and have a small balcony.

The elevator is a minus star in every review but thankfully and cross your fingers, we will have one very soon!!!! This will make the lovely 5th floor rooms desired for the very first time!

Safe travels and we hope you come visit again so we can make up for your bad experience,

Best,
JoyceO

This place is absolutely amazing! The whole hotel is decorated so unique and tasteful. Wall art, mirrors and furniture are very charming and romantic. The rooftop has sitting areas and large tubs to fill with warm water. This is great place to see sunrise or sunset. The view is great too as you could look out over the city, towards the bay, as well as towards the old fort just a short distance away. The hotel was within walking distance of everything in Old San Juan. Staff are very, very friendly and will do anything to help you out. We had a lovely room 2B with balcony, very clean and decorated perfect, great beds, fantastic mirror in the bathroom. We were sad to check out after only one night, but would return and recommend this hotel to others.

Dear Ziliden,

Thank you so much for your fabulous review! We are absolutely taken away by your beautiful description of our rooms, 2B is a family Suite equipped with a King Size bed and a large desk, and connecting hall with a private bathroom and another room with 2 twin beds and a TV for the family! The balcony is right off the King size bed, that with the charming mosquito net and the privacy doors makes it for a wonderful romantic getaway for couples with our without kids.

We hope to see you back soon for a longer period!

Safe travels,
JoyceO

We booked this based on reviews and price, and it has shone through... Lovely hotel... We dropped our bags off before lunch and wandered the city before returning for our afternoon checkin... Convenient to everything... Trolley stop outside not that it turned up later Sunday evening... Lovely staff... Lovely room... They carried our bags up for us... Air conditioning on and very comfortable beds... We even had dinner in the cafe downstairs and their freshly made from scratch mushroom soup was divine!! Free wifi... Great place!!

Dear Sandan71,

Thank you so much for your fabulous review! Yes, our Cafe is now open for lunch and diner and managed separately from the Hotel but with a high conscience of our same Client Service Excellence Motto. It's manager Tomas is known by his 5 star reviews from customers both guests and wedding groups, we have struggled with speedy service as unlike the Hotel Team, the restaurant employees fluctuate often and it is harder for training. We do extend a BIG thank you for your patience on this. However the food will not disappoint and if you ever need anything please make sure you ask for the boss Tomas and Buen Provecho! For Cafe reviews please visit it own link on TripAdvisor - Cafe Americain

Thank you again and Safe Travels!

The CasaBlanca was just what we wanted. We arrived at 10am in the morning from a week on a sail boat grimmy and exhausted - rooms aren't supposed to be available until 3pm - the receptionist did what she could to get us into our room quickly. Since the previous guests had departed, we were in our room by 10:30 and taking showers. THAT is the first time in the history of 30 years of travel that a hotel went above and beyond like that.

We upgraded to a two room suite ($229) room 4b and it was well worth the money. My king size bedroom had a balcony while the other room had two day beds for lounging or for sleeping.

Yes you have to walk up to your room but I just chalked it up to improving my health and getting steps in :)

Breakfast food was good, service slow but there was only one waiter who was doing his best and who cares... It's puerto rico!

The location is perfect. Walking distance to everything: shopping, restaurants, history.

We are definitely coming back! This is now my #1 choice of hotels in San Juan.

Dear Rhonda,

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are so happy to hear we have made THE difference from so many other Hotels you have visited in your life. It really makes us happy to be in this industry and specially working with a Hotel that cares and looks after it's guests interests. And definitely I always recommend that if you have already booked, that you talk to Front Desk about upgrading to a Balcony room as they are a completely different experience.

Tip for future travelers; High season is really demanding and we are forced to have restrictions like 2 or 3 night minimums for certain dates. If you have stayed with us before please contact us as we value loyalty and will evaluate on a one to one basis if we can make the exception for you based on availability.

Safe travels,
JoyceO

We stayed overnight as we were cruising out of San Juan. The hotel is beautiful, quaint, and located very close to several attractions in San Juan. Note that there is no elevator and all the rooms are at least on the second floor so you will need to be OK with walking. There is also free wifi!

The bell hops were able to handle our luggage and they held our bags for us after checkout so we could visit more of the city. We were able to walk along the downtown area, Sea museum, Gate, and central square, as well as eat at a few local restaurants.

Dear Maria,

Thank you so much for the beautiful review about our Hotel! We offer a wide variety of services and free WIFI is a must. Our internet is very reliable and the company that we work with is by far not only one of the best in the Island but also excellent in understanding your need for connection no matter the time or circumstance. So we want to thank Caribbean WIFI for an excellent service!

We hope to see you back soon and get to know more about the wonders this Island has for you!

Safe travels,
