“perfect for tapas, mojitos, breakfast, lunch,”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Bon Apitit had a review that said this was the best for tapas and it is. Go in from the street side terrace a pick a table overlooking the courtyard. You won't see nun's ther any more. The arcitecture of the building and the women ( and I suppose the men too for you gals) make this worthwhile even before you order great tapas. we have been three times and alwasy order a mixed group of tapas. there are several kinds of mojitos and all we tried are great

“perfect for breakfast and mojitos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Best atrium in Viejo San Juan! This is the place to gather your thoughts as you prepare for your day and for relaxing as you return to your special hotel before discovering the nightlife after those cruise people have sailed on.

“Birthday dinner at Patio del Nispero at the El Convento Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

My family & I spent a week after the Christmas holidays in Puerto Rico to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. I contacted Ruben Alvarez @ Patio del Nispero in the El Convento Hotel about arranging a special birthday dinner for us. We arrived at 8 pm & everything had been arranged; the table was set & waiting, there was flamenco music playing in the background, and there was even a full moon that night that we could see from our table since it was in the open air. The meal was delicious & the service was impeccable! Ruben had arranged for a birthday cake for us and he had even arranged to have a special dessert for 2 of our family who have special diets! I would recommend the Patio del Nispero to anyone who wants to enjoy fine dining in Old San Juan. Muchas Gracias Ruben!

“Quality varies with customer count”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

If they are busy, the quality of both service and food plummets. If you are there during a lull, it's better. Tony was the best server: both professional and attentive. Stay away during the Holiday season.

“Wonderful patio resturaunt in El Convento Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

Went here for lunch. Shady and cool, the food was excellent. I had the Churrasco which is pretty good everywhere in San Juan but definitely delicious here. The bartender makes the best mojito's you've ever had. Not too sweet but delicious and refreshing. Definitely a good place to stop and take a break if you are touring old town.
