Recently we spent a great week at Grand Bahia, enjoying the sun and warm ocean together with my wife and two little girls.
I would like to start highlighting the service of all personal from the cleaners to those working at restaurants and bars. They all are really helpful and kind, pleasant and smiling, very well trained and friendly.
Since I have never been before on a 5 star resort I will resume commenting on the value we paid, but probably there is something better or worst out there.
Our room was 14112, situated on the ground level with quick access to the beach and the main restaurant. The hotel it is very large and from certain point you need to walk a lot to get to the nice side of the beach. Unfortunately every morning we were waked up around 7.00 by the cleaners who had their work equipment just next to our room and make quite some noise.
The ground of the resort was really nice and clean. Maintenance was always present doing there best to offer a 5 star environment. Rooms were cleaned well and we had no complains at all.
Location of the hotel it is great. The transfer from the airport is more like 1 1/2 h then 1 h.
The beach is good, despite thee is not to much sand, they have a nice bay where the water is calm and also you can see lots of colourful fishes. No seaweed or any kind of garbage around, when is calm you can see as deep as 2-3 m. The main beach area has two bars an one snack bar with a quite a good food variety.
I would rate the food quality as average, with exemption of a la carte. The main restaurant had all the time a good fresh vegetables and lots of variety of meats and pastas. Sweets were well prepared and food for little ones were plenty. For my personally there was nothing special, something to blow you mind away, something you go back and refill your plate, because its taste so well. Food was same like in all others 4* resort I have been before.
"A la carte" was different story. I would definitely rate to 5* the excellent service and food we received at Don Pablo and The Grill. Testy, well prepared meats (condiments incl.), great salad bar and beautiful creations of sweet deserts. Also we were served with a bottle of Argentinian vine, for no extra charge, witch was really nice from them.
Unfortunately when we tried to book, right next day after we arrived, our a la carte, we were unable to book all 3 restaurants included in our package, due to overbooking. Some other peoples experienced the same problem.
As for a conclusion I would recommend this hotel for those who are traveling with children, it is a nice place to stay.
