My husband & I have been to H3 many, many times before this last week. We've been to H2 as well and enjoyed ourselves there too. We've always had a great time in the past, and we usually get several of our friends to go at the same time every year to vacation in the sun. I have to say that this time was different. The overall tone of the resort is the same, the activities are okay, the sun is great and the nude bar & grill are always the place to be. This time, we tried to upgrade when we arrived, and were informed that it would add an additional $400 to our bill. It would have been cheaper to book the trip that way without arriving and asking to upgrade. This year, we stayed in the Quad, which are the poolview rooms. We stayed 9 days, yes 9 days, and only had hot water 4 different times. Despite repeated complaints, all we recieved was "we're working on it" . I spoke with 2 managers, Stephen, Diana, to no avail. "we have your complaint, and we're working on it". I spoke with Lance, the general manager, same thing. "We're working on it." This was 8 days into my trip that I caught up to Lance. Guess what......no hot water. No apology, no offer to upgrade, no nothing. It wasn't just my room, either, MANY guests in the 100 poolview rooms suffered the same problem as us. We had friends in the oceanview side, and they said most of the time they had hot water, but not all the time.
At $130 a day for our room, drinks and food, you'd think they could have some HOT water for their guests. But alas, no. After a day of sweating in the sun, you'd like to wash the sweat and sunblock off before you get dressed for dinner. Or after dancing like crazy half the night, you'd like to rinse off before you go to bed, right? Nope. No luck for you.
So, I believe we won't be returning to the H3 resort, as much fun as we've always had there in the past. What a shame. We were sorely disappointed with the service we received at that resort. Next time, I'll spend $80 a night for a room at the Drury, where I can have hot water whenever I need it, along with 2 cocktails a nite, hot tub & indoor pool, and a piping hot delicious breakfast each morning, too!
