We read many reviews on various forums so we were prepared for some of the PDS at the Nude Pool "after 5". What we were not prepared for was the take over by a group of the whole quad area. We were not prepared to witness PDS countless times before 5 at the Nude Pool. We were not prepared for the facilities to be run down, but after witnessing how many guest treated the place, I am not surprised. Many of the "group" were disrespectful to the staff, property and other guests. They would party all night, then leave it ALL for the staff to clean up. There was garbage in the quad pool and laying all over the deck.
One night we came back to find that my husband's cell phone and charger had been "removed" from our room. In 7 trips to Jamaica, we never had issues. We went immediately to the desk and filed a report with security who came back and "investigated" and yes, confirmed the phone was missing. We know it should have been put away. We were told the General Manager would get with us in the morning. We were not expecting anything, it was our fault that we left it out. We were planning on an excursion the next day, but instead waited to hear from the GM. It never happened. The next day, guest services called to check on our trip. I relayed the info about the phone and waiting for the GM and she said she would let the GM know. Again, nothing. So two days of no contact with us from the GM. To us this shows lack of caring for the guests.
Food--If you want pizza, tacos, hamburgers, then you should be be happy. Fruit consisted of canned peaches, prunes, pineapple, canteloupe (which tasted old) and honey dew that was hard. There were bananas only on one day and no mangos or papayas unless you went across the street and purchased your own. Salad bar consisted of many mayo based salads (tuna, chicken) lettuce, tomatoes and four different kinds of olives EVERYDAY! I had tilapia at breakfast, shrimp for dinner on another night but that was the extent of seafood. The breakfast buffet most mornings had the items from the evening before--geesh. We did enjoy John 's (nude beach grill) Jerk chicken nachos and jerk chicken salad. I enjoyed the creamy garlic soup also.
The staff works very hard and for the most part were very friendly and helpful. The EC tends to not stick to schedules and can be hard to find. We had some Hedo bucks to turn in and it took us two days and a trip to the front desk to turn them in for our bottle of Appleton Special Rum ($45 hedo bucks and it took the whole trip and then some to earn these).
We did not hear Raggae music until we returned home and got in the car. We didn't get that. Also, guests from Breezes came over on day passes and would take over the bar.
Our housekeeping staff kept everything very clean, but I am still waiting for the ice bucket.
Would we return, probably not. Why, mostly because the GM never did address our issue. We weren't expecting anything more than acknowledgement of the problem.
Superclubs need to work on the lounge also. Sandals and Couples both have lounges with private restroom facilities, but at the Superclubs lounge you have to go out to the general facility and hope your shuttle doesn't leave before you get back. Also Sandals and Couples offer free beer, pepsi and water. Superclubs does give you a bottle of water. And no welcome home, first time since we started returning, we have not been welcomed home.
