Runaway Bay, Jamaica: Club Ambiance: Absolutely "Home Away From Home"

Our first visit to CA was in May 2006 when I was taking part in a wedding @ another hotel in Ocho Rios. I was surfing the net to find an affordable hotel/air package, and saw this beautiful resort. We were just going be in Jamaica for 4 days, so we booked the package for us, and another couple who were also attending the wedding. When we got to CA, we were greeted by a set of the most nicest, friendliest and loyal staff we have ever encountered anywhere (we are natives of Jamaica). Upon our arrival, we were given a refreshing welcome drink of rum punch. At the front desk was Lorraine, Ava Kaye, Ameka, Natrici and Nakia. Lorraine was the key to the team. She made sure that we were comfortable, and kept asking us if everything was alright. We became friends with these young women very fast.

The food was good, the entertainment staff was incredible and kept us going with different types of games and contests throughout the day. Lobster Night and Caribbean Night are our favorite nights at CA, and the bartender kept the "slippery [-]" coming!! We hung out mostly at the Legend Bar. We also enjoy the Band, Macho Man, Damien and others who names I'm drawing ablank right now.

We love CA so much every year we go back!

We have recommended my daughter, her boyfriend and my sister-in-law. They all love CA!! I told my cousin who lives in Southampton, England and she is planning to visit with us next year!

The rooms are huge and cool with king-sized beds.

Overall, we enjoyed the privacy that CA has!

We can't wait for our next visit in October!

Club Ambiance, Keep Up The Good Work!!!!

stayed for a week and had the best time. we went to jamaica in december to hedonism 2 and had a good time but club ambience was better. the food and serving staff were great. our room was on the ground floor near the pool. being a small place, i found it more friendly. only one vendor, whereas in hedo there are loads. we didnt use the naked bit but others did.
it was close to lots of activities, dunnes river falls, bob marleys home, swimming with dolphins etc.... the pool was lovely but the man made beach was not the best. i actually saw 2 sea snakes which scared me. our room was very clean and the shower and bath were great, no problem with pressure. the food was realy good. i will definately go there again. give it a try. you will be surprised, specially if you have somewhere elze to compare it with.

I surprised my husband for our anniversary with a trip to Jamaica. After much research and reading many reviews I decided on Club Ambiance. What a great choice for us! Now make no mistake this is not a 5 star resort but you definitely get your monies worth. We stayed from June 27 through July 2 and had a wonderful time.

The hotel is older and smaller but that only gives it a warm and comfortable feel. Everything is laid back, plus because of its quaint size at times you feel almost as if you have the resort to yourself as it never feels too crowded; unlike some of the mega resorts.

The rooms are a nice size, the bathrooms are average in size and both were kept clean during our entire stay.

The staff there could not be more friendly. Especially Anne at the front desk who was a doll when our luggage did not arrive with us and Kerisha who works at the main bar but could easily move over to the entertainment crew.

The food was good. My only complaint is that they didn't really serve Jamaican food. My husband and I ended up going out a couple of nights for that authentic Jerk meal we had been waiting
for.

All in all, if you are looking for a place to totally relax and unplug from the world...Club Ambiance is waiting.

CA Jamaica is a beautiful place with really genuine people with good hearts. It is full of life and fresh food and the most beautiful ocean waters I've ever been in...
Jamaica is NOT the huge walled compounds of the mighty resorts. Believe whatever you will, but for me you want to meet real people who are willing to help you have a good time even though they do not live the material life we have here in usa and elsewhere..that is not to say they are not happy or fullfilled.
After all, we are the ones going there to have a vacation. They are the ones smiling and enjoying the moment as best they can with us. My vacation with my wife was wonderful because we decided it was up to us to make it that way...and CA is there to help. If you want atomic water pressure and chocolate cake instead of waves and quiet and real people and real music, why go all the way to Jamaica? Much easier to stay in NYC and be a nasty demanding useless tourist. I've noticed that even when reviews are critical they usually still rate it 4 out of 5!!! Cheers to the other guests who by in large were all friendly...There is a great staff that will play games all day with you if you like, absolutely super folks.
We made friends or stayed to ourselves...had drinks and ate when we were hungry..rode bikes through town with Gary who made it real and fun. Would stay there again for twice as long..and would get out even more and do more excursions, see more of the island..but not one complaint about CA it was great.
