My wife and I spent our 10 year aniversary at Tiamo for 9 days. The weather was bad and rained everyday. Also, the surrounding area is quiet. The shopping in Port Antonio is not really up to par, but that is not why you should go to Port Antonio. You go for the quiet.

The grounds of the resort are to say the least amazing. We stayed in the Royal Palm Villa, which is very nicely appointed. I'd say about 4 stars, but 5 stars for Jamaica. The staff were very attentive. Everybody was always asking if we needed anything, etc.

In short, if you are looking for the real Jamaica, go to Port Antonio. You will meet people and see how they really live. I did not see any crime. However, Tiamo is way nicer than anything else in the town. I recommend anyone check it out.

We spent our honeymoon at Tiamo Spa Villas and we believe it is "paradise found."

When we arrived here we could not believe our eyes. Tiamo is nestled away on a hill amidst the most lush tropical foliage we've ever seen in Jamaica. The view from our villa was SPECTACULAR. It had an unobstructed view overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the Blue Lagoon. The condition of our villa was immaculate and we had to drag ourselves away! The staff was the best we've come across in all our travels to Jamaica -- and we've been to this island several times. The service was very personal and the food was magnificent. It was extremely private and very, very romantic. Perfect for a honeymoon! If you consider staying anywhere else while in Port Antonio, you will regret having missed the best kept secret on this side of the island. The only reason we are spreading the word is because we want them to stay in business! (although my husband wanted us to keep the secret to ourselves --smile) We plan to return again and again.

Tiamo belonged to my family for many many years before it was sold and converted to a hotel. I have not seen the property for over ten years. However, I know its location as it relates to other hotels in the area. I also know others who frequent San San on a regular basis. There is no doubt that this eleven acre property overlooking the ocean, with private cottages and pool is the most beautiful in the area. Whoever goes will no doubt agree. A trip to the blue lagoon is a three minute walk and a swim you will no doubt remember. A perfect place to relax and get away. I hope anyone who goes will enjoy it as much as I did growing up.

In August 2005 I attended the most beautiful wedding at the Tiamo Spa Villas Portland. Not only was the bride beautiful but the entire poolside setting was breathetaking. The staff of Tiamo created an amazing setting for the reception, with the pool overlooking the caribbean sea and the blue lagoon the evening was perfect. The food topped it all off. With pepper lights and candles on the deck the evening was wonderful. I took the time to tour the property and was more amazed. To all who want a "wedding to remember" you will want visit this tucked away peice of paradise....seeing is believing....trust me. Check It out...
