I lived in Port Antonios harbor for over a year on a sailboat. Many days I would sit at Navy Island and look out onto the Caribbean and write in my journal. The place is majestic. However, when I left in 2003 it was guarded and no one was welcome.

My husband & I stayed here on our honeymoon in 1996. We had rented a villa at the Blue Lagoon for the wedding & then transferred to Navy Island. We were for the most part the only guests. It was very run down, yet still very romantic. We roamed the beautiful Island sans clothing and enjoyed fabulous snorkeling in the off shore reefs. The people were very nice to us. We also made friends with Donovan who owns the little snack hut across the way. He arranged a special Rastafarian celebration of our weding for us including a bond fire and dancing chanters. Best time of our trip!! Sure hope it opens again someday. It is very special!!!
We stayed here twice and while it was not well kept (The government was running it under receivership), we loved having the entire island to ourselves. Let's hope someone takes it over and restores the island that Errol Flynn called home.
