We went to Frenchman's Cove on a Saturday in June, and ended up spending the entire day at the beach without realizing it. It is a small beach, but the view out to sea is beautiful, and the water perfect. One of the best things about Frenchman's Cove is the river that flows into the cove - the river water is cool, clear, and still, making a great alternative to the sea waves. There is a restaurant and bar onsite, and plenty of chairs to use or rent (lounge chairs rent for only US$2). When we were there, there were a number of other visitors, making for a fun afternoon in the sun. The modest entrance fee is well worth the unforgettable experience.
