Our vacation in Jamaica started when Patrick Tate picked us up at the airport with a big smile. We felt very welcomed and warmed right off. He got us to Negril in record time, and took us to the Hi Lo for some groceries, and a took us to run a few errands before we arrived at Citronella. We always felt like we were in good hands with Patrick (who was recommended to us by Cathy when we booked our stay).
This is our second time in Negril and by far the best. We expect to return to Citronella many more times. When we first arrived we were greeted by 2 friendly dogs, Jennifer and Trevor. They helped us get our things to our house and quickly disappeared to allow us to settle in.
We can not say enough about Trevor. He is kind, considerate, appreciative, helpful, knowledgeable, and straight forward. We never felt for one second that Trevor was trying to take advantage of us. Throughout the week each time we ran into Trevor he had the perfect blend of hospitality while allowing us to have our space. Always there for us, yet never intruding. We had the pleasure of sharing a few meals with him, and genuinely enjoyed his company and conversation.
About Citronella... The house we stayed in, The Round House was easily made into our home away from home. The grounds are expertly maintained and spacious (we had our own yard! We had a hammock, lounge chairs and a grill). We brought many creature comforts from home, and all things considered we were happy to have them, yet didn't feel they were necessary to make the trip perfect.
Anne Marie visited daily to help keep our house clean. She is a wonderful woman and we felt very lucky to spend time with her. Again, salt of the earth, just like Trevor.
We could go on and on about the views, but the photos say it all. After spending time in Negril looking at other resorts, hotels, etc. we would not waste our time going anyplace else.
