Arrived New Year's Eve and was greeted by Ansell himself. We stayed for a total of 6 nights. Originally our reservation was for 5 nights, but decided to stay for an extra night. Our room was very basic, but the bathroom, sheets, and small kitchen were clean. The hot water was sporadic, but it really wasn't an issue for us since it was warm anyways. Our kitchen consisted of few plates, 1 coffee mug, few utensils, some plastic cups, 1 old saute pan, 1 tin saucepan, and propane hot plate with 2 burners. The local grocery store was about a 15 minute walk away and 2 convenient stores within a short 5 minute walk. The beach was a few steps away from our room.
The staff was friendly, the vibe in general was laid back and relaxing. Beverly and Karen were very helpful and informative with local things to do and see. The only major complaint was the constant harrassment of vendors ranging from selling shrimp/bracelets/drugs/juices/tours/water sports/sex/sandles, even though there is a private beach sign posted on the property, this clearly is ignored. No matter where you are staying on the Seven Mile Beach you will be approached by locals for something. The noise level of the hotel next door was very loud at night, then again it was NYE. However, it was several nights of a concert and then karoke night. If you can sleep through this, then it's not a big deal but as I mentioned before it was over a holiday weekend. My overall experience was good and we enjoyed our stay.
