Loved Seastar! Read alot of reviews before we came and was not let down!Lovely place with amazing staff. Can,t remember everyones name but everyone was sooo great!Kirk who showed us to our room and cleaning staff and Chris & Francine were great! We ran into an old friend of ours Trevor who works there and it was so good to see him again! We liked we could bring in our Jamaican friends without a problem and the people who stayed there were so great! We especially loved meeting Stan! what a cool guy!Loved Francine,s little baby girl. it was a joy to see her swimming like a little fish! Amazing! We definitely had a wonderful stay and wouldn,t hesitate to come back again. We only stayed for a week and was just getting to know everybody when we had to leave!Would sure come for 10 days at least next time!So just want to let Chris & Francine know we had a marvellous stay!Look forward to Seastar again!Much love----Sal& Lar

We had an amazing time at the Sea Star. Everyone is so friendly, from the moment of arrival. The GM, Okema, went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. She even offered to scent my room with the night Jasmine I admired. The gardens are spectacular! Kirk, Ill call him the ambassador, as he was always there for our every need.

Everyone on the staff knew us by name, and service was exceptional (thanks to Barbara, Carole, Shippy).

Some of the best food we had all week, the kitchen was exceptional. A pleasant surprise was the live music, poolside and the Sat night Buffet and Reggae party.

I will certainly return, Lisa

I had the time of my life. I will definitely go back to Seastar Inn. The service was impeccable. I would like to thank the staff for a job well done. Everyone was AMAZING!!! From the front desk clerk, to the wait staff who knew us by name. Chris and Francine, you guys have a beautiful place and thanks for sharing it with us. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy the hammocks on the porch were made with love and were very relaxing. The grounds were well kept and the pool was awesome. Last but not least the FOOD WAS AMAZING!! If I could fly in from South Carolina and get a plate of food, I would!! I fell in love with everyone there and can't wait to go back. What a way to celebrate my birthday!! Great, Great Place!

This was a really nice hotel and I would go back in a flash, the staff were very knowledgeable and really helpful, they went out of there way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms were a good standard and everything worked which is always a bonus! Great place, great price.

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are well worth it!

There's a good reason for all the 5-star reviews that you see. Seastar Inn's motto is something along the lines of "Come as a guest, leave as family." Having stayed there, we get it. Within days, everyone on the staff knew our names. We were treated so well and just felt so comfortable almost immediately. We will almost certainly go back. In fact, we met many guests there who return to Seastar every year and have for many years. It's not hard to understand why. OK, now for some details:

1. Room - clean, comfortable, and safe. Not necessarily the latest, most up to date fixtures and appliances but you have to remember that you're not paying for nor staying at a fancy, modern, luxury hotel. Also, be aware that there are frequently events in the restaurant/bar area that often feature music so, depending on where your room is, there might be some noise. Find out in advance if that is a concern for you.

2. Restaurant - above average I would say. We ate there several times and never had a meal there that we didn't like. That being said, there are other restaurants in the area that you should try. Don't be afraid to venture out.

3. Grounds - beautiful! The property is very lush which helps make the rooms a bit more isolated an private. At least, our room was like that.

4. Facilities/Common Areas - just the restaurant/bar and pool. There really aren't other areas to congregate which some might find to be a disadvantage.

5. Location - this is probably where most travelers will take issue. Seastar Inn is located near the cliffs in the West End and is not directly on the water. The town of Negril is about 3 miles away along West End Rd. and the beaches are a few miles beyond that. The hotel provides a daily shuttle to and from the beach (or wherever else you might want to go) but this can be limiting. Of course, it's always possible to get a taxi if the shuttle is not convenient. Taxis are quite abundant in Negril but you should do your homework to learn how to use them (HINT: red plate route taxis only!). Furthermore, the hotel is about 1/4 mile inland from West End Rd. along a residential side street. Some reviewers have found this road intimidating but we had absolutely NO problems walking along it day or night. Finally, there are luxury hotels on the other side of the West End Rd., at least one of which will allow you to use their facilities (sunbathing, swimming from cliffs, etc.) if you dine in their restaurant.

6. Nearby - Rick's Cafe, rated one of the ten best bars in the world, is walking distance. Other good restaurants as well as local "shack" restaurants (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) are also nearby and well worth a visit!

7. Bottom Line - if you are looking for a charming, comfortable, reasonably priced stay in Negril, Seastar Inn is your choice. If you prefer a luxurious, all-inclusive experience where you have no contact with the local culture, then look elsewhere. Staying at Seastar Inn means experiencing Jamaica at its best!

Room Tip: Just be aware that there the hotel sometimes hosts functions, including parties for guests, at the r...

I spent a wonderful 7 nights at Seastar Inn with five other friends, during the first week of December. My friend & I were in Room 2 -which was very welcoming - comfortable beds, fridge, coffee pot, flat screen TV and two chairs and a table(along with a hammock on the balcony) over looking the lush vegetation and beautiful flowers. The Saturday night buffet and show is fantastic, especially the Seastar drummers and dancers. The food at the buffet is delicious and quite a variety. The food in general never disappointed me and very reasonably priced. The drinks/cocktails were also very reasonable and Happy Hour was always a lot of fun as guests gathered around the bar and shared their stories and adventures of the day. The staff can't do enough for you, always so accommodating. I won't mention names for fear that I fail to mention someone - but the serving, cleaning and security staff were fabulous. Okema, the office administrator kept everything running smoothly. Henry, the shuttle bus driver is so friendly and full of fun, keeps you laughing. They truly live up to their song/motto, "arrive as a friend and leave as family". This was my second visit and I can't wait to return.

Room Tip: All three rooms that our group stayed in were good. The original rooms are quieter than the newer o...

We stayed at Seastar for a couple weeks. Pretty sure we ate about everything on the menu! Never disappointed! From burgers to lobster and everything in between! Always fresh and huge servings. For sure we will be back again.
