I recently took a short but incredible trip to Negril, Jamaica. I was staying at a small resort on 7 mile beach called the Grand Pineapple Resort. My experience was great, the hotel was not a huge Americanized place, but still had everything, was very clean and great staff. While in Negril there are great things to see, but how can you get there? Hotels provide services and arrangements but to be honest my trip would not have been nearly as good if I never met Johnny, a local tour guide that runs his own show. Johnny took us to Rick's Cafe, which is a must see in Negril, the caves, found us a connection to go fishing and took us to Mayfield Falls (which was my favourite). Not only did Johnny know all the places to go, but he knew the best ways to get there, the best times to go, he made your tours private and not packed with other tourists and offered the best price. I strongly advice anyone going to Negril to try finding Johnny, he is a very well known guy and can usually be found walking the beach in the morning. Just ask around and you will find him :)
