My wife and I went to Sandals Negril for the second part of our honeymoon after going to Vegas for a few days. Right from the start the staff at Sandals treated us like rockstars. They even have a "mini Sandals" at the airport where you can get food and drinks before you get to the resort. Our driver was very friendly and informative, just be ready for a long ride because the roads in Jamaica are pretty brutal.
Once we got to the resort check in was a breeze, they give you cold washcloths and drinks immediately, took our bags to the room and our butler offered to unpack us (which we declined) but he was extremely accommodating throughout our stay. We had another butler while we were there and she was just as good if not better (they switch days). We stayed in one of the swim up suites and it was awesome! You get a fully stocked bar, mini fridge, a/c, whirlpool, patio that you can literally just walk down right in to the pool from. They say you can use your cell phone but we had a little trouble with ours. I would recommend contacting your service provider to get international calling before you go b/c using the resort phones to call the States is expensive.
The beach was very clean and water is crystal clear. Very few fish if any but we did see a small stingray early in the morning. You do get some vendors walking the beach b/c it's public but they don't harass you at all and all you have to do is shake your head no and they move on. The vibe is total relaxation and only have to get involved in things at the resort if you want to and are never pressured to participate. You can find a daily itinerary of what's going on in the lobby so you can sort of plan your day which we found helpful.
The food is excellent at the restaurants and highly recommend Kimono's but make reservations. We didn't eat at the 4 C's (Italian) but heard from other guests that it was good. I guess you can design your own dinner there. The nightlife is good at Piano Bar where they have billiards, ping/beer pong, and two lounges and a DJ some nights. Everything dies down around midnight but I think that's because everyone has been drinking all day and the sun kicks your butt, but you'll find a few couples that will party until the wee hours of the morning. Everyone we met was real laid back (guests and staff) and we made a lot of new friends/connections. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we booked another trip back next year to celebrate our one year anniversary. This place was exactly what we wanted and weren't disappointed in the least. If you have the chance.... go!!!!! Note: if you want to venture out go to Rick's Cafe where you can cliff jump and go do the zip lines, you will be laughing your @#$ off with the guides.
