My wife and I went to Sandals Negril for the second part of our honeymoon after going to Vegas for a few days. Right from the start the staff at Sandals treated us like rockstars. They even have a "mini Sandals" at the airport where you can get food and drinks before you get to the resort. Our driver was very friendly and informative, just be ready for a long ride because the roads in Jamaica are pretty brutal.
Once we got to the resort check in was a breeze, they give you cold washcloths and drinks immediately, took our bags to the room and our butler offered to unpack us (which we declined) but he was extremely accommodating throughout our stay. We had another butler while we were there and she was just as good if not better (they switch days). We stayed in one of the swim up suites and it was awesome! You get a fully stocked bar, mini fridge, a/c, whirlpool, patio that you can literally just walk down right in to the pool from. They say you can use your cell phone but we had a little trouble with ours. I would recommend contacting your service provider to get international calling before you go b/c using the resort phones to call the States is expensive.
The beach was very clean and water is crystal clear. Very few fish if any but we did see a small stingray early in the morning. You do get some vendors walking the beach b/c it's public but they don't harass you at all and all you have to do is shake your head no and they move on. The vibe is total relaxation and only have to get involved in things at the resort if you want to and are never pressured to participate. You can find a daily itinerary of what's going on in the lobby so you can sort of plan your day which we found helpful.
The food is excellent at the restaurants and highly recommend Kimono's but make reservations. We didn't eat at the 4 C's (Italian) but heard from other guests that it was good. I guess you can design your own dinner there. The nightlife is good at Piano Bar where they have billiards, ping/beer pong, and two lounges and a DJ some nights. Everything dies down around midnight but I think that's because everyone has been drinking all day and the sun kicks your butt, but you'll find a few couples that will party until the wee hours of the morning. Everyone we met was real laid back (guests and staff) and we made a lot of new friends/connections. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we booked another trip back next year to celebrate our one year anniversary. This place was exactly what we wanted and weren't disappointed in the least. If you have the chance.... go!!!!! Note: if you want to venture out go to Rick's Cafe where you can cliff jump and go do the zip lines, you will be laughing your @#$ off with the guides.

The food the staff the service the weather the beach and our room, was perfect it was one of the best vactions we have ever had , This was our 2nd time at sandals . both times we were treated like royalty. by everyone athe resort . the food was prepared wonderful, and every restaraunt 5 of them on the property were all the same . our room was well kept and the in room bar was well stocked every day, we stayed mostly on the beach at one spot and the bartender that served at our beach spot had 4 beach chairs with towels ready for us morning . it was was great suprise that he would take time to treat us like that. In all we would love to come as soon as possible to any sandals resort.

Just got back from Sandals Negril (July 11,2009). Words can't even begin to describe the amazing time we had. We stayed in the River Suites again-stayed there last July as well. Our Butlers were Denato & Dwayne, 2 of the most wonderful people anyone can hope to meet. We had Denato last year but Dwayne was new to us this year, but you wouldn't know it. Thanks to them for all the wonderful surprises and the fantastic service they gave us even when we didn't ask. They always seemed to know what you needed and when. We couldn't wait to get there to have a Denato Special. Dwayne we also loved all your specials too! We already booked for next July and are looking forward to seeing them again. We also enjoyed seeing & spending time with Theresa at the bayside-we love ya! Thank to Jolene & Julie from the come back soon desk for helping us to book for next year-see you then. As usual the Return guest dinner was great! The beach party was a blast. I could go on & on but I suggest you go there and see what I'm talking about.

Ok so we stay at sandals every year at the same time, got married there and have been back for our wedding anniversary ever since. So pretty much everything is how we left it last year other than the following that we noted:-

One big difference is that they now have sun umbrellas which is great. I love the sun but hubby burns too easily.

Horace the GM will walk around and introduces himself and you will get to know his face by the end of your trip. Never had this before was nice.

As we are now platinum members we got out first room upgrade ever and a little surprise which was nice but not exactly what was written on the note. We were upgraded from Concierge walkout to the one bedroom loft suite. . They only problem here is that we like to stay day and night at the piano bar, so every day we had to walk the length of the resort to get 'our' spot. The room upgrade was the ONLY difference in service or anything else compared to if you had just booked a concierge room or are returning guests. No VIP check in etc etc. And most people get a room upgrade just for returning, we always seem to looked over on this. Another thing we stay for our wedding anniversary as I said every year. They always ask when we book are we celebrating anything however don’t actually do anything about the fact that yes we are celebrating an anniversary? Why do they ask? Not sure if we are being ‘overlooked’ again? We were told we could have dinner with 2 staff members, didn't realize that we had to find out when they were working and arrange the dinner ourselves. Can you imagine having to ask these questions then ask them to come in on their day off? So not as good as it could have been. If they allowed the time off we could have had dinner with 2 people (That we wanted) however we only got 1 person we wanted and we have to squeeze this in before their shift. So as I said not really what it said on the tin.

I think the level of service has gone up slightly this year compared to last year. When we stayed last year there was so many new workers that no one really seemed to know that the other was doing. So much better this year with regards to that.

I am getting a little bored with the menu as it hasn't changed since 2006 when I first stayed. Same thing, different year. They no longer have Red stripe in the fridge, instead they have a cheap 'carib' beer. Didn't taste too dis-similar however can you imagine going to Jamaica and not drinking red stripe. (They only serve red stripe in the bars) and being a lady didn’t fancy drink a half pint of red stripe in my nice little dress. Lol. Think I drank more red stripe in England before I went in anticipation than I did on my holiday!!

Oh and another thing, last year we were constantly harassed by photographers and spa ladies! Such a relief that not 1 photographer asked us if we wanted out picture taken. And I think maybe only a couple of times a spa lady asked. Just how we like it. When we had a spa treatment all the other years it used to be like you were on the beach, the trust something into your hand and make some elaborate story up as to why you needed this item. (I am a beautician so know what is right and/or wrong!!) Again this year instead of trying to make you buy something that you do not want, they just come right out and ask for a tip at the end! I was a little taken aback as I wasn’t expecting it.

Have already booked for next year as the staff are the best thing about this resort .

Any questions feel free to ask.
