“Great for something a bit more authentic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

Pushcart is adjacent to Rockhouse. It's a more laid back option if you are in that area, and still want hotel quality service (as opposed to the local spots also along this road).

The menu is more Jamaica foods, not much in the way of American dishes like you will find at rock house or the other hotels, but the prices are also a lot more competitive here, and the service compares to other places where you will drop $100+ for a meal.

The view on any of the cliff side place is excellent, push cart is no different. We went at dusk, and it was really neat to watch all the bats from the trees start their night.

Food was really quite decent in my opinion. I had the jerk pork, it was light on the spices, but tasty nonetheless. They have a number of alas carte sides, and while I had to have the ubiquitous rice and peas as one of my sides, it comes with roast plantain. I've had fried plantains on many occasions while in Jamaica, this was my first time having it roasted, and I loved it.

Service was exceptional. The waiter was very friendly, the host staff accommodating, and bar services as quick. An added bonus was the fact that they picked us up from the hotel free of charge, and the taxi ride back was only a few $$.

All in all, I was pretty happy with my experience here. It makes for a good change if you are looking for a more laid back dining experience than Rockhouse, Ivan's or The Lodge at Tensing,

“Overpriced Touristy Stuff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

Too expensive. Small portions. Ok view, many places have the same view or better on the west end. Me and the wife spent almost fifty bucks and still left a little hungry. Presentation is nice but ten bucks for five tiny peppa shrimps, that's not what Negril is about. The platter for two was very small and the curries barely had any sauce. Oxtail is all about the sauce as is the curry.

Visit the more local spots. They might not look as nice or have elegant presentation but they make better food. Service is excellent here, hence the two stars.

De Bar, Mango Tree, Mi Yard and 3 Dives are nearby. Check those out.

“Amazing View, Live Music, Festivals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Rockhouse Pushcart is a great restaurant. My husband and I just spent 5 days at the Rockhouse with friends (FANTASTIC - best vacation ever) so we ventured up to the Pushcart several times during our stay. If you don't stay at the Rockhouse while visiting Jamaica, you should definitely head over to the Pushcart for dinner and drinks. The food is good, the drinks are strong and the view is spectacular.

Enjoy live music every night from 7 until 8. For dessert don't miss the Devon House I Sceam (ice cream) and Festivals...Imagine eating beignets topped with your favorite vanilla ice cream - only better. DELICIOUS!!!

“Just OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

We had high expectations for this place but they fell short in most regards. The setting and view are nice on the cliffs. We had an appetizer that was supposed to be shrimp, squid, conch, and fish but it was so breaded that you could not really taste the seafood. The best thing about it was the spicy sauce and I don't like spice! My wife had the fried chicken which was actually quite good. I had the Oxtail which was fatty and too much work. The live music from 7-8pm was quite good.
