My husband and i booked point village negril for our honeymoon. The hotel is rated as 3 star plus, i wouldnt even give it 1/2 a star.
The bed was falling apart and i believe it had bed bugs as every morning i would wake up with a new bite even though i was covered in mosquito repelent. Room very basic, with air con. We should have had a garden view but we looked onto the road and were opposite the nightclub (very noisey). The food in the main buffet restaurant was different i think every other night to include traditional jamaican dishes and things like sheppards pie with flys buzzing around.
The swimming pool was not worth having quite small with a jucuzzi i wouldnt put a dog into.
The staff were friendly if you spoke to the right person, and the entertainment was poor, i think the most people we saw watching including us were eight people.
Needless to say we had to move hotels to enjoy our honeymoon.

I am astounded at the negative reviews that some people have posted about this resort..."only one television for a 3 bed apt...come on you don't go on holiday to watch the telly !. "bad food".....I am a chef and the food was excellent. People seem to forget that Jamaica is a third world country next time people go to Disneyland or somewhere like that. My partner and I had the most amazing holiday. Yes some of the staff could smile a bit more but generally the staff were gracious polite and very very helpful. There was no "trash" anywhere, the place is clean has an excellent Resident Nurse.......Sun.......Sea.....Sand....Booze......Good Food........Great Entertainment what more do you need?
We had such a great time we are taking our children back in October and have started organizing our wedding there next April.

Well done Point Village and thank you for making our time with you so special x

cant believe the reviews from other people why book a 3* hotel if you want 4* facilities.we stayed for 2 weeks at new year and cant wait to go back.we made some real good freinds out there and were asked for nothing, had a few problems with men outside of resort with my 15 yr old daughter, but shown nothin but respect from staff.my daughter is really fussy at home, but ate something different everyday here and no ticky stomachs either. our room was fab, very large and had recently been decorated.as for drugs and being hassled does it cost anything to say no.they then leave you alone.beach here is small but very clean and tidy.adult beach is not for the tickled stomach and hedonism gate crash beach to put on daily performances but apart from that no complaints, great place, great food, and fantastic freindy people, after hearing that they are rude i have to say the only people who are rude are us tourists who think that because we are all inclusive it gives us the rite to order people around ,it does not these people are making a living and work really hard, respect is also free and once you show it you get it back. see you next year folks we loved it.

Let me start off by saying I will NEVER fly with Air Jamaica again. Horrible experience and not how I wanted to start off my vacation. The fun started at the airport in Jamaica. We had booked a shuttle ahead of time through JUTA Negril roundtrip for $30 and this made things very easy. The resort was great. Yes, it is an older resort, but we found it clean and charming. We spent most of our time on the beach with our family and in the wonderful water. Our reason for going to Negril was my daughter getting married. The wedding was beautiful and went smoothly thanks to the wedding coordinator, Rona. It was stunning to watch them say their vows as the sun was setting behind them. The food was average, not outstanding, not bad. The hours of availability were kind of off, but the bar also served food. For the most part the staff was friendly, but the women seemed to be unfriendly and not wanting to help us. This would be a perfect resort if the staff was more cheerful and helpful. Bring your own larger cup, this will keep you from going to the bar all the time. oh, and the idea of 'no problem, mon' will be great at first but will get old fast. good luck with that part, it's everywhere. High recommendation for the Rockhouse Restaurant. Incredible place, good prices.

After one hour at the resort, I was calling my travel agent to get me out of there. The resort has potential with a lot of renovating. Nice setting, but very old and dirty. Not all people staying at resort are tourists. Some rent out the units and live there year round. No electrical outlets in bathroom and only one TV for a 3 bedroom suite. Staff very unfriendly and unhelpful. Our travel agent go us out of there the next morning. I cried all night until I left. I would not recommend this to ANYONE. We were placed in another resort and had a wonderful vacation. It is not true that everyone on the resorts in Jamaica smoke the ganga. Our resort had security that did not allow it on land. Maybe some might have snuck it while still in the Caribbean Sea, but you don't have to put up with it while sitting on the beach or around the resort. Food was not very good, but then again, my appetite was not very good seeing what the place looked like. Full nudist beach right next door. You cannot walk down the beach without going past this. You don't want to see some of the nudists.
