My daughter and I were in Montego Bay and we did a day trip to Negril. This included laying on the beach at Margartiville and then over to Rick's in the late afternoon to watch the Jamaican divers and the tourist jump. The sunsets at 5:30 p.m. so get there before then. We arrived by car but the local resorts transfer guest by catamarans. It did get rather hectic and I'm glad we had arrived before them and were situated ideally for watching the divers. The Jamaican divers will ask for tips for their efforts. If you do not tip no worries there is no pressure to do so. We did see a young lady land on her butt and legs. She immediately was bruised on the back of her thighs and was in pain. Unless experienced I'd recommend watching...no need to ruin your vacation.
Rick's is known for the beautiful sunsets so bring a camera.
Once the sun goes down the diving is over however the music starts. We stayed longer than we should've but since we had a private driver we were able to work it out with him.
I would for sure visit Rick's in the afternoon when in Jamaica.
