“Hedonism II ALL IRIE MON!!!!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

My wife and I just returned from 17 nights at Hedonism II and we are already ready to return. The food quality and selection as well as the hotel management were both very good. Minor hotel issues were well addressed by staff. One suggestion for improvement would be to post on the Hedo II website a list of all drinks served at the bar with their ingredients. This would be helpful for both bartenders and guests. Some minor issues on our trip. The food portions at Harry San are too small. Fans are needed at Harry San--it is too hot there. Vent fans are needed in the bathrooms of each hotel room. White chalk and two sticks for each table are needed for shooting pool. I was unable to play basketball every day because the ball was often lost and management was forever telling me to find a coordinator about the basketball. What can they do? Find the basketball and keep up with it.

The Hedo 2 tour company, Sun Holiday Tours, quoted me one price for the Appleton Distillery Tour before I arrived at Hedo 2. Once I arrived, Sun Holiday quoted me a different, higher price for the same tour. We were not told before a show with the Hedo 2 entertainers that we were not allowed to videotape it (note: show was only H2 entertainers, not H2 guests). After the show was nearly over, we were asked by the staff to erase our recording. It should be announced to all guests before every show that any form of recording is not allowed. They should not be randomly and individually told after the fact.

Unwind Travel Fluffernutters tried to wrongfully charge us twice for the VIP service at Club Mobay. Also, my wife and I were not met at MoBay Airport by a Club Mobay escort because Unwind Travel did not provide us or Club Mobay with an arrival confirmation number. When I contacted our agent at Unwind Travel, Juliana, about a partial refund for not receiving this part of our VIP service, she never responded to our email.

Despite these issues, we both enjoyed ourselves very much, were overall happy with Hedo 2 and plan to return soon.

I will keep it to the pros and cons with a little intel if needed. Wife and I of 17 years now stayed for our first time here, for two weeks on July 05, 2014

-Bad Beach for swimming due to sea weed and algae and the scare of Urchin's. People still use it but its not nice. It is nice to walk it and to walk in where you follow the sand trails, looks nice and you can float around on a floatie all day as the waves are not that bad, sometimes really calm, and to sit on the beach in a chair is nice as well. Apparently staff scan for Urchin's but they are known to be there and people have been poked and then you need medical, not sure what the odds are, likely small as lots used the beach for two weeks and nothing happened. But the algae will then stir up and be at surface which is a pain. They should use a skimmer or cleaner, there for the seaweed and algae as there are companies and products out there that can clean that up and the resort should seriously look them up and see how its done.

-Please kill the entertainers that sing love songs or I will commit suicide at the resort. What a stupid thing to do. This was like inviting Kenny Rogers to your pub night. What an elephant in the room that was. There are nice slow songs for couples to dance to that don't have to be so depressing. Some slow songs are better suited for ministers daughters not Hedo. Didn't last long though, I had Viagra that literally straightened that out.

-Trees on the beach are not trimmed high enough, provides too much shade, you walk into them and it takes the views away. The ocean view rooms must suffer a lot from that.

-Stay savy, if your a couple with fantasies then there are singles there that may try to take advantage, not sure what, but we were warned by a staff member about one individual who was talking to us; that he was a regular, not just single men but women as well. Just stay savy. If your not into fanatsies then this doesn't apply as we had no pushy individuals, just saying if you are into hooking up then be aware.

-I hate when I ask for something from the staff and I get the irie response. You don't know if they heard you. The only way I can explain it is when my wife tells me to do something and she gets no response sometimes or an uh-huh, then she has to say it again and sometimes I ask her why are you saying that again, the staff do that here sometimes. I asked when can we get our bags and they said no problem, you get your bags??? I asked when??? Ask for a drink with loud music and your not sure if they heard you, then you either end up with the wrong drink or are amazed they heard you and you got your drink.

-Rooms that are not upgraded have poor showers, pressure is great but you need a mechanical engineer, not a plumber to figure these things out. We never had cold water despite asking for it twice.

-Air conditioning did not work great, could not get it lower than 24C in the room

-Room was clean but I am suspect to that they just painted over the mould and that the air conditioner was older and full of mould that may have caused us to get a cough. This was not the new renovated room just a refurbished room.

-No air conditioning in the main dining areas, I have seen outside air conditioners and mist machines outside at restaurants before and it is needed here. You will sweat when you go to diner unless you eat in their one restaurant which you need a reservation for, which is why I don't use it.

-Entertainment was good but hard to watch at times....why?

-Free internet in the room....not available. I always look for hotels with free internet...always, and will keep my eyes open.

-No air conditioned areas to go dancing at night and stay cool should you want to stay dressed. Women hate wasting the time they put in to look a certain way to have it ruined by sweating.

-Bathrooms on the nude side are terrible and too far from the beach.

-If you are classy then stay away from this resort, however, nobody will care or miss you. But , it would be nice to see the new owners keep up and capture this business crowd at some point.

-I like room service for breakfast at least.

-You will meet mostly the best people in the world here. People at these types of resorts are social and easy going. I can only hope that a larger society will adopt this theme for adults and learn to live instead of being oppressed. The people really make the trip worth while regardless of cons and worth so much more than being stuck at a prude resort, and having nothing to talk about except food and service. You will actually make new friends here which is priceless.

-The staff in general work hard and are very nice. Service was really good.

-If you go with a group you may get fringe benefits such as a rocking band at the main pool, it is hot out and you will sweat dancing but it is sexy as hell and you can go nude in the pool and water dance or just jump in with your clothes on. If you get too hot and you will get too hot in many ways, just jump in the pool. We know how to party at Hedo is a statement that is true to the bone.

-The food is really great and always abundant and all over the resort whenever you need a bite, even into the late night and early morning.

-Free water sports which I used and loved a lot, really gives you a break to get out on a mini sail boat into the open ocean, even took a kayak to Booby Cay which took about ten minutes in which we had two lobsters served to us by the locals there as a shore lunch for 40 bucks and was the best lobster ever, there is red stripe there as well for 3 bucks a bottle, I had 3 of those. They smoke the lobster over an open fire and a serve it with a cooked plantain. Really, Really, Good but they kill the lobster right in front of you so you may have to prepare yourself for that.

-The resort is large which means there is always a quite spot to go to. There are small pools on the resort where you will find only you and your spouse at should you want to relax. You are not all stuck at one pool or one beach. I love the fact that there are 3 main pools and you can be nude at all of them with no dirty looks. Such a big area to walk within the resort if you want to and there is still food service everywhere.

-There are rocks and signs everywhere by the thousands that show repeat customers who return to this resort which says a lot.

-When the entertainment was awesome, it was awesome and we had a blast overall.

Overall the best entertainment that brought a respect to my eye was the Bon Jovi sing alike singing "Its my life", Its now or never, I ain't gonna live forever, I just want to live while I'm alive.

The theme here is nobody cares, have fun, stop worrying about what you look like and just be free here to dance like nobody is watching.

The resort is not comparable to a Desire resort. Hedo has many major benefits such as its size and things to do but if your classy you will prefer Desire as it has better amenities and room service, but he beach is also bad and your stuck with one pool and nowhere to go. Also, Desire is not that upscale compared to other resorts in that price range but the price is based on the theme not offered anywhere else.

I think next time I will go to Couples Negril for my last week and spend the first week at Hedo. Hope the review helps, give me a click if it did!

Been to Hedo in the past? New Updated renovated rooms are soooo nice! We had jacuzzi room right on the beach, doesn't get any better! Comes with VIP services at airport in & out (including speed track through customs & security) escort to your room upon arrival, robes, grey goose, rum & champagne including stocked fridge with sodas, water & Red Stripe. Nightly turn down service, VIP Reservations for restaurants & special love gift on nightstand :-) Food has come a long way, new chef has made incredible changes, quality & variety. Grounds are much more manicured & we'll groomed, entertainment staff has really stepped up nightly entertainment shows. Especially appreciate the expansion/renovation of the piano bar! Oh can't forget to mention, new lawn chairs on the beach with hostesses bringing orders from the bar, don't have to wait in the line if you don't want too :-) Super nice addition to the "service". Will counties to recommend to others and WILL BE BACK!!

We just returned from our 15 th trip to Hedo 2 and have already booked our next two trips! Over the past few years we were disheartened to see that the previous owners were obviously not maintaining the property. Since the new owners took over in 2013 the improvements have been ongoing and noticeable. This last trip (July 4-14, 2014) was our second trip back since the new owners took over. The essential spirit of Hedo is back along with fresh and updated rooms, efficient air conditioning, plenty of hot water, top shelf liquor and good food. Staff seem so much happier and are eager to assist. The few requests we had were quickly responded to. We were happy to see many old familiar faces(especially Winston,Eldon Sunshine, Lorna, Serena, Paulette, Kimmola and Peta-Gay) and were happy to meet new energetic staff. The EC staff works tirelessy and are talented & personable, We traveled to Hedo with friends who had been to Desire numerous times, but had never been to Hedo before this trip. They loved it and will be back!!!
We love the place, the people we meet, friends we've made and the fact that you can be as wild or tame as you like. No pressure, no problem mon! The highlight of our trip was winning 5 free nights at the repeaters party which we are going to use to celebrate our anniversary in October. Irie! Diane and Dave

Ok so I'm sitting at the airport lounge writing this review. Our stay was from July 12-18 we booked with a group (the fluffs) and we feel like we got our money's worth for sure. Our flight a bit delay in panama but no big deal we still arrive at Jamaica at 12:30 immigration was at least 2 hr wait but we got the Mobay VIP pass and well worth the extra 75$ round trip what could have been a 2 hrs wait was less than 20min. After about an 90 minutes we arrive at the resort the entrance is nothing fancy, check in was very nice and easy everything pre arrange by the the fluff. We are taken to our room and nothing special the rooms just got a new fresh paint coat new beds comfy beds. The shower had hot & cold water at all time during our stay and the AC work just fine the entire stay, house keeping did an amzing job every single day.

The food was ok the Buffett could be a hit and mis we ate 2 times at the buffet and both time we didn't like the food but really enjoyed the fresh fruits they have but for breakfast it's a must I don't like bacon but man the bacon at Hedo is very good, they have several options and if we didn't really like it that doesn't mean other will share our same opinion. The Asian & Italian Resuturants are a must very good food and good quality. The nude grill has great pizzas burgers and jerk chicken.

Hedo has something to do at all time with activities or just mingle and have fun with new and old friend. The resort has 2 sides the prude and the nude about 98% of the people are at the nude side. And yes the rule is enforce on that area. Did not really visit the piano bar really not our cup of tea the disco could be a hit or miss the nude pool and hot tub at night is very complicated to explain you got to be at the resort to see it and believe what's going on we did and are planing our next yr adventure. If you want more info please send me an email

June 20-30, 2014 was my 10th trip to Hedonism and it was again a great experience for reasons related to the great service, food, drinks, ground and room renovation and remodeling and of course the relaxed, "no problem mon" ambiance and atmosphere. I was there also for the 8th Annual Krewe de Krazy Life Group Rendezvous in Paradise and there were 5 other groups attending that week too.

From seamless and effortless ground transfer via Rocky's Taxi Service to quick, efficient check-in, my first few hours in Jamaica and at Hedonism II made me feel comfortable like I was returning home.

As he resort was nearly sold-out during the week I was there, I was surprised to find that there were no unreasonable delays or issues whatsoever

My garden view regular (renovated) room was very clean, relatively quiet and cool (with the exception of 1 day where the air conditioning for part of resort was out of service due to a chiller water line break). The newly remodeled rooms are very nice as evidenced by the reports from people in my Krewe de Krazy Life Group and others who shared their room evaluations.

Overall, service quality resort-wide continues to be excellent, food (including the nude grill and Reggae Beachfront Cafe) is across-the-board even more improved from last year and was noted by so many as being great with expanded daily menus and presentations. Drinks were also top shelf and abundant, quick to be made and delivered and available 24/7.

Wi-fi resort wide was good throughout my stay and the new construction of the courtyard area is reported to be an area where free wi-fi will be offered once remodeling is completed.

The piano bar was closed my first two nights due to remodeling but when it opened up (see my photos), the wait was worthwhile and Deon was back working his musical magic!

I thoroughly enjoyed my specialty dining in both the newly expanded Japanese Teppanyaki "Harry San" restaurant and always upscale and Italian-based "Martino's" dining room. The food at Harry Sans was only surpassed by my chef's entertaining style and fun attitude while preparing the meals.

While the original jewelry store is gone, Hedo's Gift Boutique has more than made up for its absence with a vastly expanded area and inventory where you can buy everything from souvenirs and clothing to medicines and adult-only accessories.

The fitness center and spa were busy most days and beachside massages were commonplace and people in my group said they really enjoyed the massage experiences.

The nude and clothing optional beaches were popular throughout the day and the swimming/wading area seemed larger and more free of plant life and even those painful sea urchins. Plenty of new padded loungers were available although they were scarce late in the afternoons at the nude pool.

The nude pool continues to be the most popular gathering area for guests, especially noon-7 pm and it was nice to see that Hedo supplied at least three bartenders each afternoon so drink waiting times were minimal. The nude pool grill also offered a larger, varied menu and of course, the post-midnight pizza offerings were delicious.

When the nude pool got to be too crowded or noisy (with the games & contests), I walked back to the main pool by the main dining area or to the beachfront pool near the disco & Reggae Cafe for some quiet time. Drinks were also close by also. The main pool is totally clothing-optional and it also served as the staging area for several parties during the week including the "Glow stick" party complete with DJ while the adjacent Disco hosted several "Meet and Greets" plus a "Foam Party" and contest during "PJ/Lingerie" night. The attached water slide was popular both day and night and it continues to be a wild, fast slide into the disco pool.

The Entertainment Crew at Hedonism is unmatched compared to the many other Caribbean resorts I've been to and you will not find a harder working or more dedicated, friendly and talented group of actors/dancers/singers both on-stage or throughout the resort at various functions and venues.

I enjoyed my interactions at Hedo with two of their regular on-site vendors---Christopher the wood carver (who finished a commemorative plaque highlighting my 10 trips) and Kevin the rock painter who did a great Krewe de Krazy Life rock for our group that is currently on the ground outside of Martino's.

Staff at Hedonism continues to be responsive and attentive and that contributes greatly to a stress-less vacation.

Improvements, renovations, and remodeling/construction continues at Hedonism II but as I discovered during my stay, it had very little impact on me throughout my vacation.

While the weather was typical for June in the tropical Caribbean, some rain and thunderstorms did occur for a couple days for a few hours. A word of caution---when it is storming with lightning, get out of the water and into a safe, covered location. Also, when the tiles and walkways get wet, be extremely careful with your footing.

Also, I would recommend that you book Harry San's restaurant early in the evening before the main stage entertainment begins so that you can enjoy your fellow diners and appreciate the culinary skills and entertainment that your chef can provide.

Trip #11 for me is already scheduled for June 20-27, 2015 and I can't wait to "go home" and be with my Krewe again.

Room Tip: Since some remodeling/renovation of some rooms has been completed, choices have improved dramaticall...

Overall, the resort appeared in better condition to me than Dec 2013 during my last visit. I think the food was markedly improved from my visits last year and hope that trend continues. My room looked and smelled very clean and I was very pleased with the housekeeping service. In general, the resort appears in better condition since the change in ownership and it's apparent, at least to me, they are all working very hard on making it as good as it possibly can be. I had one of the refreshed 'classic' rooms and was generally pleased with the condition of it. There's a new security service at the resort now, and they also appear to be an improvement over the previous service they had used for many years. Management (specifically Kevin Levee and Donna Grant) appear to be doing all the right things. They're vigilant in their duties to make sure everything is working correctly and very responsive to any legitimate problems reported to them.

There was one minor internal coordination problem regarding my reservation, but management got that corrected quickly and I suspect there will be some improvements made in that area.

All in all, I enjoyed the visit very much and I'm pleased with the trend I've observed since the change in ownership.
