The Tree House has been around as long as Negril has. Jamaica owned and operated, you meet friendly locals and are taken good care of. The free morning breakfast is ideal, as everything along seven-mile beach is priced for tourists and the morning fare is the same as you get at the Tree House. The location is perfect in the middle of seven-mile beach.
We made the mistake early on of returning our beach towels each day but after sleeping in and eating late we got down to reception to find out that there we no beach towels immediately available. The beach chairs are great but you need towels to make the slats bearable. We stopped turning our towels in and just hung them on our balcony overnight when they were wet.
In close proximity to the Tree House, Cosmos to the right is a close walk just past the all-inclusives. This was by far the best food for the money and not horrendously overpriced. Most of the restaurants have free pickup from the hotel and then you can walk back or hire a cab. Kuyaba, a good walk on the beach to the left of the tree house had great food and offered free pickup. Rick's on the cliffs is not within walking distance but again offers free pickup and then about $7pp return fare is normal. Rick's had the best snapper of all the places I ordered snapper at. Tamboo received good reviews from others, it's next door to Kuyaba, but the cheeseburger I ordered hardly resembled anything (including fast food) that I'm used to in the States.
