I was very excited about my first trip to Jamaica. I looked online for a while at Orbitz & Price Line. I read almost all of the reviews and decided on Rooms on the Beach because of what was said about the location. This was a mistake. After traveling for what seemed like all day we arrived at Rooms around 8pm. I really needed to use the bathroom but couldn't becuase there was some pubic hair on the toilet and tub. The room had some mildew and although I booked a delux room with a balcony, I was put on the first floor which felt unsafe. Since it was late they said no one could come clean the room. After several visits to the front desk we were finally able to change and then received a room viewing the hotel next door, Jamaica Grande. This hotel had a beach party and dj but Rooms offered nothing. The women at the front desk were awful. I have never delt with anyone with such a bad attitude. They made me feel like I was asking them to do something other than their job. Their resturant was closed but I was able to get some food from a vendor on the street. While walking to find some where to eat a guy was trying to talk to me I engaged him for a minute and continued on my way. When I made it bak to the hotel he called me. When I asked how he found out what room I was in he said the security guard told him. How safe was that? It was awful trying to get extra towels and every day after the maid cleaned the room there was always some hair on my pillows. Maybe she took a nap. There is no elevator here so be prepared if your room is on the 3rd floor. The beach is not private so please keep in mind the beach will be full of locals. There were also cats in the hotel at night and roaming during the day but the staff did not seem to care of removing these stray animals. PLEASE stay away from Hal!!!! He is a fat hustler with a huge stomach who sits and hustles tourists on the beach all day. The beach is very peacful at night only. Keep in mind you are walking distance from everything and a 2-5 minute drive from Dunn's River Falls and One Love Trail. One Love Trail is very peaceful I recommend you visit. The food at Rooms is overpriced and the breakfast does consists of stale pastry and orange juice. Try out Juicy Patty and some of the street vendors the food was good and I did not get sick. Orbitz is the worst also do not book with them when I called about my room the customer service rep said "so what do you want me to do?" She did not care and Orbitz did not post our comments and the pictures on that site are misleading. This hotel looked nothing like the pictures.
