“Perfect Relaxation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

In a Nutshell: My husband and I traveled to Jamaica for vacation June 15-21, 2012. To start off, Trip Advisor is the reason we found Couples Sans Souci in the first place. I looked at Jamaica and looked at the top 5 resorts and Couples Sans Souci seemed like the perfect fit for us. We are a laidback couple who enjoys good food, good drinks, good service and beautiful surroundings. We for sure weren’t disappointed with Couples Sans Souci! In fact, we had great food, great (strong!) drinks, fantastic service and gorgeous surroundings. We fell in love with the resort right off the bat; from the first hour we arrived.

Arrival: When we arrived at the airport, we were taken to the Couples resort lounge for a drink and rest (and restroom!). :) We then rode a shuttle to the resort (took about 1 1/2 hours). We were able to see parts of Jamaica. We were greeted with champagne and cold towels when we arrived at the resort. We were taken to our room along with our bags.

Accommodations: We were placed in E block. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We were close to the lobby, Balloon Bar and close to the Spa/Fitness Center. We had a great balcony with a full-size table and 4 chairs, along with 2 lounge chairs with cushions. We used the lounge chairs quite a bit to read and enjoy the rain (for a few days of the vacation). The mini-bar was stocked daily, even with full-size bottles of rum (requested by my husband). We did enjoy the cable TV some. :) Getting a WIFI signal wasn't the easiest, but we used the computer mainly on the balcony for the signal strength. Beds were very comfortable, we slept well every night. No complaints whatsoever for the accommodations. Some say they are a little outdated, but they are comfortable and that is what matters. Maid service was great, too! Took their time, but it was spotless.

Staff: Wonderful, fabulous, couldn't ask for better. We have stayed in an all-inclusive resort in Antigua for our honeymoon, but we preferred the staff at Couples Sans Souci. They went out of their way to accommodate us. They always smiled and greeted us at every moment in our vacation. We have some special people to acknowledge: Gracie Ann, (waitress) Shawna, (waitress) Marsha, (spa) Ruth (spa) and Channing. (Bartender) My husband and I couldn't get over how friendly the staff was at all times. I'm hoping they get paid decent for the service they do for us. They give 110% at all times.

Fitness Center: My husband and I really enjoy working out and used the center everyday we were there. They have a good amount of machines and weights. Very cool inside with towels and water and Cable TV. Nice view of the beach behind us. Great center.

Spa: This being our third anniversary and vacation for the year, we splurged. We both got a Couples massage at the same time in the spa huts over the beach. While we were getting massaged, the breeze was blowing nicely along with the relaxing sounds of waves. Very nice. Massages were great; in fact, we got another one before we left. We both got the Rest away package. Facial, Hot stone massage and salt body scrub. Again, by Ruth and Marsha. Very relaxing and great massages again. We would recommend the spa!

Beach: Yes, it isn't very big, but they keep it raked and clean everyday. We enjoyed getting some sun or being in a hut. There are always chairs for available anytime of the day. They are great about bringing drinks by or fresh fruit picks. We loved the huts, lounge chairs with the floating rafts. The floating rafts are a huge plus! Other resorts we've been to haven't had these and we used them everyday. They are nice to lie on while on the lounge chair and great for the beach. Surf is very calm, water clear and beautiful.

Watersports: Very fun people! Great staff. We enjoyed the snorkeling, Hydro bikes, glass bottom boat, knee boarding and kayaking. Be sure to sign up for events to make sure you get a chance to experience them.

Events: We enjoyed the Starlight Gala (beautiful!) on Friday night, Beach Party on Tuesday night (fun). They set up to the nines both of these evenings, with candles, decorations, ice sculptures, bands, music, and lights. Great food, too! It is hard to not overeat. Couples Casino night was fun, too!

Resort: Yes, a lot of stairs, but it helps when you eat a lot and need to work some of it off. We loved the foliage and flowers everywhere. Beautiful! We also totally enjoyed finding all the nooks and crannies everywhere-to the pond, hammocks, hidden Jacuzzis, trails, and paths. Go explore!!

Food and Drinks: We totally enjoyed having fresh smoothies made everyday at the Pallazzina breakfast buffet. We enjoyed the breakfast and lunch buffets each and everyday. My husband and I aren’t picky and liked all food; especially the specialties they made that were different from US. Casanova was a nice restaurant, nice ambiance and great food.

Activities: We enjoyed the excursion to Dunn’s River Falls. Do this! It was a blast! Take water shoes!!! Regular flip-flops won’t cut it. Take a waterproof camera! We bought the DVD at the end, and 1 photo, which was fun!

Gift shop/Jewel Box: We enjoyed the Gift shop and bought T-shirts as souvenirs for ourselves. (Gift Shop has an excellent selection and great prices, too!) They also have a nice selection of everything. Prices were better than the airport! Jewel Box (jewelry/cigar shop)—didn’t like. My husband didn’t like the cigars or the people that worked there. They were not Jamaicans. (Don’t buy cigars from the Jewel Box). The cigars were cheap and dry. He wishes the resort would offer good cigars. (And not from the Jewel Box)

Mineral Pool/Spa/Veggie Bar: Mineral Pool was very nice. We LOVED the spa and surrounding area. The bar near the Mineral Pool makes fresh juices and smoothies, along with fun veggies and fruit skewers.

Tips: Take a bag for items to take to the beach…we forgot this and bought a very nice one at the gift shop. Take lots of sunscreen and bring bug spray. Take water shoes to Dunn’s River Falls, along with a waterproof camera if you want your own fun photos. Take Crystal Light packets for a change of pace instead of just plain water, juice or alcohol.

All in all, we will return very soon to Couples Sans Souci. We loved Jamaica; it’s people, and the beautiful island.

Room Tip: We enjoyed E (Evergreen) Block. Close to the Balloon Bar and Lobby. The balcony was great with 2...

Hubby and I stayed April-May and we can't wait to go back! We can't help but talk about CSS to anyone and everyone that will listen! Like people say the hotel has "aged" but not in a run down sort of way just in a nice glass of wine kind of way! While it rained a lot when we were there it didn't hinder our experience at all. The food (especially Stephanie's pasta) was amazing! The drinks were fantastic! The beach was amazing! We are from the west coast so many nights it would just be up enjoying the bar and the beach! The massages were relaxing, the seaweed wrap was rejuvinating, and the mineral pool was relaxing and peaceful! Only 2 things our room was right by the maid station (B6) so if you aren't a early riser you won't like that room. Closing off the room doors that lead to the hallway helped with the noise but was woken up sometimes when we didn't want to be. And bottled water. We drink TONS and TONS of water at least 8-10 bottles a day and then water out of the fridge at home, so sometimes we were calling 2-3 times a day to get water plus walking down to the bar to get multiple glasses, did either experience have a negative effect? No way no how just know for next time...which is in 365 days! We only went for 1 week this next time will be for 2 for my 30th birthday and we can't wait, some friend we even met at CSS will be returning with us to help celebrate! Left parts of our heart at CSS!!!

This is a great place to stay! The staff was very friendly and the housekeeping staff was so wonderful!! Our bed was turned down every night! The food was good, the pool bar was so fun! If you decide to do any activities, plan WAY ahead, we wanted to go to the falls but they only go on certain days so we missed the chance...that was disappointing...We would go back tho!!

Room Tip: We were in "A"...In front of the pool...Id request this room again!! Our friends were in...

My husband and I just returne from our honeymoon. It was the most relaxing, romantic week of my life. If you are looking for a five star, fancy hotel, this is not for you. However, if you are looking for a classy, romantic, elegant place to stay, you should go here. The food was delicious at all restaurants. Cassanova is the only really fancy place ion the resort. Guys have to wear long pants a dress shoes. But the food was amazing. They don't serve you overbearing meal szes, because they know you get 5 courses. The room service was on time everyday and the beach grill is great during the day. I would recommend bringing snacks because there really is no place to grab a quick small bite. The gift shop des have Chex mix and cheese it's

We did not feel pressured to tip a single person on the resort. The only time I did was at the airport. I would not recommend to much older people or people who are overweight. There a lot of Stairs, but it adds to the serenity of this place. It was never loud and there weren't people getting wasted everywhere. Two nights there were loud parties, but the were in a part of the resort that was away from the rooms. You could barely hear it. They have wonderful music everynight. The beach party and starlight gala were great!

If you looking for a l,ace with thousands and things to do and really big don't go here. If you are looking for a quiet calming place, the go here. You can get chairs at11:00. You don't have to run down first thing in the morning to get a chair on the beach. Great place!

Room Tip: Request a block.

When we arrived in Jamaica we received a warm welcome from the couples representatives and were welcomed into a comfortable lounge and given refreshments. When we arrived at our hotel the room we were given was basic to the standard we are used to but then this is Jamaica and to be expected. We upgraded purely because we'd planned to when we arrived to the private villa which was absolutely fabulous. We found the staff and management wonderful and extremely helpful. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about sans souci, a holiday is what you make of it and it was everything we expected and more. We did a few trips out including 9 mile, Rosehall and fort Charles. We had a fantastic time. I very much recommend that people explore Jamaica itself. It's a beautiful country with beautiful people. Can't wait to go back!

I can't think of one negative thing to say about our stay at Sans Souci ! It was the best trip we ever had. This resort is amazing! the food was perfect! The service was better than perfect! The staff go above and beyond to make you feel special, and we were very impressed! The grounds were beautiful. The resort was large in acreage, but not in numbers of rooms , it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. We swam in one of their many pools, and would often have it all to ourselves! There are NO LINEUPS anywhere! The beach huts are always available no matter what time you get there. The only time you actually would realize that there were a lot of people on the resort was on the gala and beach buffet nights.OMG the entertainment those nights was fantastic! Many of the people we met were return customers, and when you are there for a few days it is easy to see why.Don't listen to any bad reviews like too many stairs!Yes there are a lot of stairs, but if you are going to eat like kings you will need the exercise! Also the resort is built on a cliff and we would not have had that million dollar view from our balcony otherwise One week was not long enough at Sans Souci. I will go for two next time.

Me and my husband had our first vacation to Jamaica and went with Couples San Souci per our travel agent's recommendation. The people , the atmosphere , the staff and the food was just amazing We had the greatest time. We were already planning our next visit. We stayed for six days five nights. We had breakfast on our balcony every morning aside from the buffet breakfast at the Pallazina. They deliver breakfast to you at the time that you request. All you have to do is leave a slip filled out with what you would like and the time. It was breakfast in bed. The Pallazina restaurant was our favorite dinner spot. There is a pasta bar where the chef cooks whatever pasta with your choice of sauce and toppings. Our last night there we ate at the Casanova and I had what i would call the best soup I had ever tasted, the shrimp bisque. The themed nights were very entertaining. We attended the casino night and a had an auction with our fake money, it was so much fun. There is also a wide variety of water sports. We kayaked every morning. Also the swim up bar was very fun. We played games and trivias. Kadiene was a great entertainer. Dunns River was an experience I will never forget. Be careful when walking through the market place, they will try to sell you anything they can. Overall we had an unforgettable experience. Also, we got some amazing photos with a private photo session at the sunset beach. You can request one at anytime. Kenesha is a very talented photographer. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be going back again.

Room Tip: Beach front suite was a great value for only a few dollars more
