We were a little unsure about taking our 7 yr old through the falls. But after a successful climb, I can confidently recommend this excursion to families considering this attraction. I agree with another review that says 7 would be the minimum age to take a young child up the falls. The younger ones can always walk alongside the falls on the boardwalk, but you would just have to coordinate with another friend or family member. The boardwalk provides ample viewing and a good walk. Thrilling for every age. BRING WATER SHOES that won't fall off. My brother did it barefoot; not too easy for him.

i agree that climbing the waterfall may be a little hard for people with physical problems but my brother (7) and my mom who has slight back issues once in a while could do it easily, we were just tired. it's not likely but you could fall so you should be careful and if you dont have them buy the water shoes cus bare feet would make it slippery. make sure you go there you wont regret it. its calming has great photo ops and make sure you get a tour guide. i mean how many chances do you get to truthfully say you climbed a waterfall. enjoy your vacation!!!

We had a great experience climbing Dunn's River Falls, however, I would warn that this activity is not for those who aren't very stable on their feet. It is DEFINITELY exhilirating, but not at the risk of stumbling or falling onto the rocks! We visited during the week of June 2nd and had an added setback of an extreme rainstorm during our trek up the falls! One final point, the guides usually recommend holding hands going up the falls and I'm still NOT CONVINCED that this is the safest method for getting to the top! Good luck and enjoy!

My wife and I booked a Royal Caribbean shore excursion to DRF, and all I can say is that it we both agreed it was our favorite excursion so far.....by a landslide. Although the Falls were PACKED, our guide was very good at keeping our group away from the crowds, and both he and the videographer assigned to our group kept us laughing the whole way up. Which leads me to my next point. I read in another review to not purchase the DVD because it was never delivered. I did buy the DVD and found it waiting for me as we boarded our cruise ship. Maybe that's the key....be affiliated with a cruise line.....not sure....but the DVD was well worth the $40. Our kids got a huge laugh at Mom & Dad's DRF climb and other related adventures along the way.

Overall, 100% recommended.
