“Tour guide was grumpy and rude”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

I loved my private garden tour at our Hotel Jewel way better. The tour guide here was grumpy and rude. I cannot remember his name but he was an older gentlemen and could of cared less to be there. If you go DO NOT join a tour. Look around by yourself and take your pics at a leisurely pace.

“Breathtaking views and great photo op”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

The gardens are hidden gem in the mountains near Ocho Rios. There was a daring bus ride to reach the gardens, but once there the experience was wonderful. Beautiful lush vegetation and stunning view of the Mahoe waterfalls. We could even see our cruise ship in the far distance.

“Quiet lunch spot”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2012

It's a bumpy ride up to the top, with lots of potholes. Nice view of Ocho Rios and the ocean. There is a waterfall and natural pool area with a few picnic tables. You can walk the falls, the pool was not that clean. It was very relaxing up there.

“Nice drive to the gardens and very beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2012

We didnt actually go much past the visitor center because we were waiting for another group who did go in the gardens. They let us look around without paying. There is a fresh spring comming up out of a faucet near the entrance that is fine to drink, but they sell cold water at $2 a bottle at the entrance. Everything looked well kept and manicured. The drive up to the gardens had several locals performing little stunts hoping for a donation. We never donated, but probably should have. Especially the bird man who jumped out in front of the van and looked hillarious. Everyone in the van cracked up laughing. Give him a buck for me, he is great.

“Coyaba is a pretty garden to see.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2012

We stopped at Coyaba on our way to Dunn's River Falls. It was included in our tour. It is a pretty garden. Much smaller than Shaw gardens. Our guide was really nice. We loved the resident cat!
