“Classic perfection”

If you are looking for PARTYPARTYPARTYDAYANDNIGHT... Then this is not your hotel. If you want peace, beauty, classic, casual elegance, delicious food, impeccable service, a quiet, manicured, secluded beach, and few kids, then this is the place for you. We spent four days there last week (our first visit) and felt more rested and recharged than after much longer vacations lots of other places. It is a true refuge. The online photos are entirely accurate -- it really is that beautiful. Drink a dirty banana, read your book, and reconnect with your significant other. With no TVs or radios, it feels like the rhythms of this place are timeless and maybe haven't changed for 50 years. That's because there is nothing to change. We are already planning our return.

Room Tip: Get a beachfront room, numbers 41-47. The beach is your front yard. Perfect! Or get a cottage if...

Jamaica Inn under the guidance of their relatively new manager, Kyle Mais, is flourishing and growing with a renewed sense of purpose. Its 'Welcome Home' greeting as you enter under the archway into what the taxi driver described as 'the most relaxing hotel in Jamaica' is strived for every day - if that's not a contradiction. Hard to imagine a greater haven of peace - with a helpful hand at every turn. If one could afford it one would live here! Kyle was extremely helpful to us and made sure our wishes we're met. The smartly dressed staff greet you at every point offering help and guidance. The natural warmth and gentleness of the Jamaican people is allowed to flourish here and gives the calm that the hotel offers to its visitors. The food is very good with authentic Jamaican touches and if you feel brave you can plunge into a week of Jamaican breakfasts. Don't expect Egon Ronay finesse - it would not work in this climate - expect substantial food, well served, and well supported by well-chosen wines (Craggy Range no less). The candlelit dinners, supported by the eclectic mix of music from the house band - who are at their best when they get into their reggae groove - are memorable. Great daytime facilities - light to medium strength exercise - water activities from boats to snorkelling and the ever present 'Planters cocktails' make this the island preserve that Robinson Crusoe would have died for. The owners and the great staff must be glad that they found Kyle to enhance their investment and take them on to the next stage of their development.

We stayed for seven nights room 19. Room was quite nice, liked the flower designs on the bed each evening, cute swans made from the towels by Sadie housekeeper, beautiful lady. Our room location was perfect put back ocean, out front fabulous garden then beach, which had sunloungers covered in towel each morning. Breakfast massive choice of fruit, omelettes, basket of toast and pastries, Jamaican breakfast, bacon ham or sausages etc. Water topped up regularly and tea or coffee. Complimentary drink between 11 and 12 rum cocktail or blend of fruits both delicious. Teddy, darmar, and Rupert great at the beach bar, Teddy has worked there for 55 years unbelievable! Great character has met some famous people over the years. We had great lunches and dinners served by friendly staff. Dinner always had live music which added to the meal some waiters danced and sang while serving, which for us created a lovely atmosphere. Have to give the friendly and enthusiastic stretch a mention, very thorough and pleasant. We met Peter the owner during our stay on a few occasions, always took time to acknowledge us and enquire re happy. Nardia I'm the gift shop is a bonus to the hotel. Also seabird at the bar was very efficient. BBQ on the beach was an experience, good but waiter service a bit slack on this nite. Only negatives I CD mention are toiletries on the bathroom a bit cheap for cost of stay but not major to us. All in all best hotel we have stayed in, liked the way most staff knew our names:). We met some other nice people, and had drinks with another couple most nites who we have now made friends with outside:). When leaving the hotel we received a lovely momentous box which I will treasure.

Just returned from a 7 day stay at the Jamaica Inn. It is a beautiful hotel with immaculate grounds and probably one of the best beaches in Jamaica. What really makes this place special is the staff. On every level they were amazing. Not only do they give every guest great service but they become your friends. I've traveled to many beautiful places and the service here and the way the staff interacts with you is like nothing I've seen before. Peter the owner and Kyle the manager are always present and interacting with the guests. I was a solo traveler on this trip and never felt uncomfortable. All the other guests were so nice and welcoming. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer.

Room Tip: All rooms have an ocean view.

What a wonderful beach location and a great swimming area with nice water toys! Staff was warm and friendly and always willing to help out. The music at dinner time on the outdoor patio was just terrific and fun - got people dancing and singing along. The room was clean and comfortable and spacious with its neat outdoor seating area with comfortable couches and chairs. My 12 year old daughter fell in absolute love with the place and can't wait to go back. The croquet pitch was and added bonus and fun to play. Most every other guest we met had been coming back to Jamaica Inn for years and years, and they loved it too. The food was not the greatest, but it was still good and the service was excellent. Over all it was a great experience!

I just got back from a truly memorable 8 day stay at the Jamaica Inn. Went with a friend as we both needed to get away from a long and wearing winter. From management (Kyle and Sharlene), the front desk to the bar, restaurant and house-keeping, the staff were totally top notch - professional and friendly. The food was terrific and we never felt the need to go out other than to look around the area. The rooms are exceptionally clean, with lots of towels, air conditioning, internet service and ice. There is nightly entertainment and we had a great time dancing. The grounds are so beautiful and the beach is never crowded. We loved the complimentary tea and sandwiches in the afternoon and took advantage of a fun and information filled trip to the market with the Chef. Wished we had booked to stay a little longer and can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: we stayed in a deluxe veranda room overlooking both the gardens and the ocean - it was absolutely lo...
