“Not Going Anywhere Else”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

I wanted to relax, be taken care of, be left alone at times and socialize at times, have authentic Jamaican food, and quietly melt into the sun and brown-sugar sand. Jamaica Inn delivered all that beautifully. (And there can't be anything better than a "Four-Hand Bliss" massage in a private little grass hut right over the crashing waves - wow.) I've been to many great places, and this is the only one I really want or need to return to. The property is first-class, but what will bring me back is knowing that Eric (co-owner), Mary (GM), and the entire staff want to welcome me to their home. I'm already planning my return.

“Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

We were there for the six days before Christmas. We thought we died and went to Heaven. We upgraded our room to a beach room and it was well worth every penny. We felt as though we had the best room on the property. It was right on the beach. We could hop over the our rail to the beach and be in the ocean in minutes. The staff was wonderful. We really liked Mary, the general manager. The owner, Eric and Mary want you to know they are there and will introduce themselves to you. If you have a problem, they want to know. Christmas Eve was a lot fun with a local female singer singing Christmas songs. We only went shopping one day and another was to Dunn's River Falls. The rest of the time was spent just relaxing. The weather was great-mid to high 80's. Food was good. Really enjoyed the fresh fruit for breakfast and the red snapper at dinner. We will be back.

Room Tip: Get the beach suite.

“Understated Elegance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

On arriving at Jamaica Inn you're greeted with a warm "welcome home". What might be just a clever marketing slogan elsewhere truly captures the spirit of Jamaica Inn. The owner, Eric, the general manager, Mary, and the entire staff view the Inn as their home, and they want you to feel that way, too. Jamaica Inn isn't the newest or glitziest hotel you will find in Jamaica, but it has a timeless elegance and gracious charm that can't be replicated in a big, new hotel. If you're looking for organized activities from dawn to dusk and a disco open 'til the wee hours of the morning, this isn't your place. But if you want a beautiful beach, wonderful food, and maybe a hike up nearby Dunn's River Falls, Jamaica Inn is for you. The beach is quiet and uncrowded, with a sail boat and sea kayak available if you want to venture out in the cove, and a croquet lawn nearby. It seems many guests choose to have breakfast on the veranda of their rooms (the continental breakfast with fresh fruit and pastries is a great start to the day) and lunch on their veranda or on the beach (the seafood salad is a treat). Dinner, a multi-course extravaganza, is served on the outdoor terrace of the hotel's dining room under the stars (weather permitting, which, this being Jamaica, it usually is). To complement the top-notch food, the hotel has an ample wine list with bottles from around the globe. And there's a small band playing softly in the background. Welcome home? Welcome to heaven!

Room Tip: Two-bedroom cottages are great for families with teenagers.

“Probably the best hotel in the world”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

...and believe me, we've been in a few! I could talk about the rooms, especially white suite and some of the cottages as they are truly unique, tastefully decorated and furnished. I could also write about the food, which I think it's best we've had in the Caribbean, both because the amazing cooking of the chef as well as the quality and variety, without forgetting the wines. Could write about the beach, the environment, the sea, the gardens, the cocktails and the parties. But if there is one thing that makes the Jamaica Inn really special and unique is the people who work there. Congratulations to my friend Mary Phillips for the great job she's done here, and she keeps doing every day with enviable energy, vision, management and great taste which you case every day. The staff is beyond attentive and caring, they are great professionals who know how to excel on their jobs and they really care for it. Each of them. This place sets an example for others to follow. Respect!

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

I visited the Jamaica Inn with my son and daughter-in-law over Christmas. It was a lovely experience for each of us. The pictures on the site are nice but the property is even prettier than they portray.

The hotel and beach are wonderfully clean and attractive. The staff from top to bottom is attentive and helpful - and - someone certainly knows how to cook!

There were activities for when we wanted something different (fishing, dolphins, plantation tour, glass bottom boat ride, snorkeling) either on the grounds or nearby.

The ocean was the best swimming I have ever had. Clear water, sandy bottom, rolling waves.

I hope you get there. And treat yourself to a spa session on the rocks above the surf.
