My husband and I stayed at Goldeneye in November after getting married at RIU Ocho Rios. We were delighted from the moment we were picked up by Laurel, who was the most delightful driver I've ever met. When you arrive at Goldeneye, you will be greeted by grounds that are not only well kept, but unique to the resort. Banyan trees, fruit trees, palm trees, beautiful flowers, and tucked away villas...We stayed in the Honey Chile villa and were immediately drawn to the terrace which overlooks the lagoon and private beach. We enjoyed a bubble bath our first night which is a clawfoot that faces french doors that open to your private outdoor shower under a banyan tree. And it gets better. The staff is attentive and catered to our every need. Our villa was kept spotless. The water activities staff took us out on the resort's glass bottom boat for a tour along the coast. The dining staff was absolutely phenomenal. My husband who is a Jamaica native and very particular about Jamaican cuisine was absolutely in heaven when it came to the meals prepared by the chef. A perfect combination of Jamaican and Western cuisine to satisfy different tastes were presented three times a day and I will say that the food surpassed my favorite restaurants in the states. The food was delectable and made fresh daily. We were even treated one day to a special surprise: Stewed Peas. A traditional Jamaican dish that is my husband's absolute favorite. This was the one dish he wanted and wasn't sure he'd get. Not only did he get it, but it was prepared to perfection. Our last night at Goldeneye was spent on our terrace having a couples massage at sunset. Dawn and Megan were amazing. From the staff, to the grounds, to the food, to the amazing beach and lagoon, you will have an amazing experience that will surpass all expectations. Even with it being the rainy season, nothing could have ruined such a spectacular time. Thanks Goldeneye!
