“Very Disapointing Hotel”

On arriving at the Royalton we were given a room over the top of the kitchen's, this was totally unacceptable, then offered a room with 2 single beds which again was unacceptable by which time being 7.45 Jamaican time, we having been travelling since 9.15am British time, eventually got a room. The bathroom had a leak in the U bend of the sink, which took 2 men 3hrs to fix, that was the first problem.
We had a day out and had left a message to the maid to change the towel's, on returning from our day out and ready for a shower, !NO TOWEL'S had been left for us totally irresponsible, our Bed was never made up until 4pm every day, which again is not acceptable.
The patio door was hard to open and close, and had such a very bad rusty lock which never did the job (NOT LOCK AT ALL ), I have had better treatment in a 3* Hotel than this.
We have smelt RAW SEWAGE, and the fountains by the Buffet room were smelling stagnant also. Food was generally at a good standard with a lot of variety's however pretty much the same menu every day at every meal + no hot plates.
The makeover of this Hotel is of extremely poor quality, with numerous minor room fault's still outstanding and unless management strategy is addressed there is No hope for this hotel. This was my Husbands retirement gift from me, VERY UPSET about the whole experience.

Room Tip: PLEASE try somewhere else other than this remote Hotel

It was my first time at the resort since it reopened and I had a great time. Lovely staff and the facility is world class. The food was good and Dion-the jersey chef add spice to our pallets with the jerk chicken and catalog rice.
I would recommend Royalton white sands to my family and friends.

We stay at the Royalton the first week of Dec. We went knowing, that the resort was new and it had problems and we didn't know what to expect. Check in was about 1/2 hour.(very lucky).Our room was great .It overlooked the inside of the resort and everything worked in our room. We saw very little construction ,mostly minor things.The resort was beautiful. Gardeners are planting lots of flowers and shrubs. The 3 pools are very nice.Its a short walk to the beach and it is beautiful. Nice sand, no rocks, and blue water. The bars seem to have plenty of bartenders. The drinks vary from bar to bar, but that always happens. The buffet was OK. Not 5 Star but we always found something good. The beach grill was very good. Great Jerk chicken and sausage. The Italian rest. was good.The steak rest. had very tender steak, The Japanese was fun, the food was ok but it was fun sitting with new friends, drinking, talking, singing, and watching the chopping of the food. We enjoyed the sushi bar. We really didn't see any of the shows.(too tired) .We are up very early in the morning and one thing we did not like is, there is no place to get coffee before 7:00. They need a self serve coffee station. Everyone that worked there was very friendly. We did the 4 water slides, they were great , lots of fun. There is a group of dogs that hang around the beach. We like dogs so they didn't bother us , people feed them so they hang around. We had a great week at the Royalton, not a 5 star yet but we got a great price for the week ,and we feel we got a great vacation.
