Reasonably priced hotel, with a good location. Walking distance to the Hip Strip, but removed the hustle & bustle. Grounds were well kept, staff was friendly and helpful, restaurant food was good & reasonably priced. Beer reasonably priced. What more can you ask for? (well - maybe a queen or king size bed rather than a double).

Good: The grounds were nice with trees and flowers. Staff was friendly.

Bad: Hotel restaurant: I don't recommend eating here - we found mold on our food. General/Housekeeping: We booked a non-smoking room and reiterated this when we arrived at the hotel. It seemed like the request was acknowledged but when we got to our room there was an ash tray. The room smelled badly and the bed was very uncomfortable. The pillows were very flat and there wasn't a fitted sheet on the bed. Housekeeping did not change the sheets. There were not enough towels. The ice bucket wasn't clean. Basics were not provided (e.g., alarm clock, toiletries were not restocked on a daily basis, hair dryer, coffee, etc).

This is a great motel/hotel for the budget minded. The rooms were clean, exterior well maintained. The rooms don't seem too secure, but they offer a safe deposit box for $2 a day so that was fine. The pool was nice and a great bartender as well. It's close to everything so it's a good starting point. We stayed one night and for me that 's enough of Montego Bay anyway.

We had breakfast and dinner there and they were fine, try the brown pork stew, fantastic!!! Service was excellent.

I would recommend this place to anyone, it's nice because it's off the main drag.

This is a great choice in the value category. The pool area is a garden oasis in a dusty and noisy (but fun) city. The rooms are large, clean, and nicely furnished, with french doors to a private balcony. One of the best things about Toby`s is the friendly nature of the other people staying there( some returning 4 or 5 times). By the pool or over breakfast you will learn everything about MoBay. Out the guarded gate of the 60 unit complex walk south on the 6 block strip of bars, hotels, ,beach ,and shops .During this 10 minute walk you will be approched by `salespeople` offering just about anything you could want on vacation(They are non threatening and polite and just trying to survive in a poor part of the world)No thanks I`m okay is all thats necessary if you are not interested. Out the gate of Toby`s walk 3 minutes north to a public beach( great for sunsets and watching the planes come in low over the water for landing.I
