As soon as we landed in Jamaica, the party started at the airport where Sandals has a greeting lounge with Red Stripe beer, soda, cocktails and snacks, the resort was a very short ride (8 minutes). Once there, we were welcomed with champagne and warm hand towels. After a quick briefing we ate lunch and were on the beach soaking up the warm Jamaican sun within a 1/2 hour. Couples that had vacationed at other resorts said Montego Bay was the best for a quick getaway. If you go to Negril or Ocho Rios, you'd be stuck on a bus for a couple of hours to and from the airport, wasting your vacation. The staff was polite and very accomodating. There are activities around the clock...participate if you want or just relax and soak up the sun. My husband and I took Salsa lessons on the beach, entered the Best Dressed competition and enjoyed all of the water sports offered (ask for Fellucchie!) There are also pool tables, darts, chess, shuffle board and a basketball court beach side. Snorkeling was the best...lots of colorful fish to see in the reef. The Play Makers put on shows nightly. While there they had a talent show, art auction, newlywed game and fashion show. The quality of the food was excellent. I do suggest making reservations at Tokyo Joe's & Cucina Romana as soon as you check in to avoid a late seating or you could always grab a bite from the buffet. The resort was very clean...we had a room in the concierge wing, honeymoon suite on waters edge (free upgrade) right above Tokyo Joe's that was breath taking. My drinks of choice were the Miami Vice and Jamaican Smile...make sure you try them. Our trip was from Friday to Monday...with good planning you can have 4 days on the beach. I came home beautifully bronzed and relaxed. This was our first trip away from our children in 10 years...if we can swing it, we'd like to go back EVERY year.
